@diamonddash Nationalism is a good method of building a short-lived empire, since it turns people into drones bent on archieving a goal for a particular faction or country, yes; but it also sows the seeds of universal hate towards that empire. Nationalist countries quickly grow, attack and take control of other nations, but in a few years they either run out of resources or are faced with a coalition of other nations as a result of their actions which ends in the destruction of the nationalist estate. Take Nazi Germany as the perfect example of the second type, where they reconstructed a destroyed nation and made it probably the biggest power of it's time, but caused their own downfall due to their nationalist and zealous nature. Or take USA as another example, a nation built on nationalism that is decaying due to being built in hypocrisy, being surrounded by other countries that will go vulture on it as soon as it crashes due to their actions in the last few decades.

@diamonddash Come on man, I'm a Dash fan and yet I perform perfectly in myriad of jobs. You can be arrogant and yet be a perfectly functioning member of society. Dash is portrayed in the show as the very elite in her job, able to give results many times better than most other members of her species.

And then there is fear, that would apply to Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy... So basically you are saying "Applejack is best pony" and also "Applejack is most boring pony"
