!yorkshirebronies Apparently also that cinema in the Light, right near the restaurant we went to, allows private hire of its screening rooms. Without ringing up I can't find much out, but I bet it will be pricey...

!yorkshirebronies Been doing some very half-arsed 5 minute research again. It does look to be quite far from Leeds city centre but so far, it looks feasable. Prices don't look half bad either! http://www.cottageroad.co.uk/privatehire.php http://g.co/maps/xwq77

!yorkshirebronies @mattus701 Holy crap, an actual cinema screen? :D If we could have a mare-athon... Just think of the possibilities!
Thursday, 02-Feb-12 18:47:36 UTC from web-
@leonkfox oh yeah, I agree, if we can get more people to turn up then the costs will be proportionately lower. I'm more wondering how much it would cost each of us to rent out a screen like that for a few hours
-
@trister Well, I'd wager it won't be cheap, but like you mentioned with a larger group the cost for each individual will drop considerably.
-
@trister @elscire !yorkshirebronies Right, I'll keep that in mind. What do you reckon the price limit per person should be? The lower the price the better. I'd be happy personally if I could find something for £20 or less each, but some people may want to spend less, which is understandable.
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @trister the meal cost was £280 if I recall correctly. it sounds right. I personally spent £20 but assuming everyone spent £15 on average that would be £300. Assuming everyone (19 people as someone left) went bowling at £11/ea that's another £200. Places are expensive though - we may not really be able to do anything for that - but we'll just have to see! =3
Thursday, 02-Feb-12 19:51:38 UTC from web-
@elscire indeed, so assuming we're eating in addition to renting out this room it's certainly going to cost more than £11 per person, but on the plus side it will probably be a fixed cost, so more members means that we each have to pay less
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @wychwood Hah, yeah, we all surround Leeds! I vote Leeds for default location! Question is, do we ever want variation or do we want to almost always meet up there?

@purplephish20 !yorkshirebronies I've added you, purplephish, but for future reference, anyone should be able to add themselves from the link. Edit Button -> Right click map -> Add marker. Or you can search a place. =)

!yorkshirebronies I have no qualms about where we end up, as long as the date is accessible to everyone.
Wednesday, 01-Feb-12 21:59:03 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies @klayking York would be fine by me, but who else can make it is a significant factor. If it's not ideal then there's no reason we *cannot* do Leeds again if more people can make it that way. I put myself on the map - and google maps has an integrated short URL feature, so this should hopefully also work if you want to trim that beast down a bit: http://g.co/maps/zqusk

!yorkshirebronies Is still early days, so nothing is anywhere near certain, but I'm just looking at the map, wondering about good places for meetups. It seems that anywhere above the Leeds area is a whole bunch of nothingness for many miles. Sheffield is always an option providing there is a lot of interest from the !midlands, and York has been suggested to me before. I'm currently trying to find any function rooms with internet and a projector in York, but having little success (most likely because I'm not putting much effort into my search). Any locations / venue suggestions would be nice if you have ever thought about this before, too!
Wednesday, 01-Feb-12 20:32:25 UTC from web-
@klayking !yorkshirebronies I have family in York, I can see if they know of any function rooms. It might be a few days before I can speak to them though, I'll keep you posted
-
@trister Awesome, thanks!

!yorkshirebronies Snow might be detrimental for travelling, yeah. As for gathering people's locations it would probably be best to just e-mail them or something, so someone can gather locations and check from there. As for a place for a future meetup York is a little more northern if we end up going that way, it's also more eastern though, if that might be a problem
Tuesday, 31-Jan-12 18:56:10 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies Apparently we will be getting snow in February. If this is the case, I think postponing the next meetup until March may be a sensible idea, what with travel and all. This gives plenty of time to plan stuff for the next meetup, such as location, activities and expected attendance. If we have 20+ again, what would you guys think about booking a function room? If we could get somewhere with internet, and a projector, who knows how much fun we could have!? What we need to do now though, is find a way of mapping everyone in the group, so we can find a good place that is near most of us. If I was more confident in my HTML skills, I would make a website for the group, but as it is I won't bother trying for now. P.S. Merrion Morrisons confirmed for not having blindbags.
Tuesday, 31-Jan-12 18:43:09 UTC from web-
@klayking why not just get a map of yorkshire and put numbers over the towns?

!yorkshirebronies meetup video is finally up on youtube guys! check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-bimhKh4iI
Tuesday, 31-Jan-12 00:17:14 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies @klayking we couldn't have done that anyway as it happens - I had a look when I was buying MLP magazine in there - it wasn't a big enough Morrisons and and didn't have any, unless I missed them somehow. Honestly this is probably just as well because I would hate to imagine the carnage that could ensue from 20 lustful bronies all fighting to get their hooves on numbers 7 and 11 (Rainbow Dash and Big Mac). Love and tolerance go out the window =P
Monday, 30-Jan-12 19:34:08 UTC from web-
@elscire I'll conceed that... we would have kicked the papayas out of each other trying to get 7 and 11
-
!yorkshirebronies @elscire Speaking as somepony who already owns a Big Mac I can say that it would have been amazing to observe and video, especially in a store that small.
-
-
!yorkshirebronies If only we had known that blind bags were in Morrisons, we could have just stormed the one right next to the bowling alley, and still not been late! This said, I'm so checking it out if I can actually sneak away from my classmates whilst we are in there tommorow lunchtime.
Monday, 30-Jan-12 17:29:35 UTC from web-
@klayking why the hell did we not think to look in morrisons...

!yorkshirebronies @wychwood the video is edited and will be on youtube as soon as I have the time to upload it tonight. It's nothing fancy but it's still kinda cool in my opinion
Monday, 30-Jan-12 10:51:37 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies Thanks for uploading all pictures. Haven't given myself yet to check out the blind bags at my Morrisons, but hope to do so somewhere later this week.

@klayking !yorkshirebronies Sure, link to google docs folder for the meetup photos: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/108525906259480342403/albums/5702828558829815489 and I've been told that you can't access those without a google account, so they are now on photobucket as well: http://s782.photobucket.com/albums/yy104/tornadotrist/Leeds%20Brony%20Meetup/

!yorkshirebronies That's pretty good going @bored0stiff - it's supposed to be *checks receipt*.... £6.97 at Asda!
Sunday, 29-Jan-12 19:33:10 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies If any of you are near Doncaster, I went into their ASDA today and got these. It was incorrectly priced up as a £3.99 Polly Pocket toy! This makesup for them trolling me yesterday, a bit anyway... http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb478/bored0stiff/IMAG0018.jpg

@zeiferrei !yorkshire Ey'up! jus' got back... Due to a bugger up with trains (not my fault) I arrived in sheffield 10 minutes after the train I was going to then get had left... so I then had to spend nearly an hour waiting for the next one.... which meant I could have stayed for the extra hour and had that second game of bowling I payed for... (DISCORD in lane 4, I won the one game I played) However I did rendezvous again with @yorkiebrony when he got off his train from leeds.... You where the one I was sat opposite from in Brio's right? (lots of download festival discussion)...... All in all great day!!!

@purplephish20 !yorkshire Still completely groggy from the train back - why the heating was on maximum.... blergh - it was a nice surprise to be tapped on the shoulder at Sheffield station. I want to thank you all for a great day and taking my mind off the study for the day. Bowling was fun, although I know for sure I wouldn't have done so great without the barriers in place haha. And, as you requested, here are links to 2 of 4 of my PMVs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl8pvK0iXwE http://www.archive.org/details/Pmv-Tusk
