!yorkshirebronies regarding food I don't think it will be possible to get much better priced on food, at least in a dine in situation for up to 20 of us. It's possible to get a meal and drink for under £15 in Brio's, so it's not all that bad.

@purplephish20 like a 'gourmet' kind of place
-
@stecissunrise yeah... really fancy shmancy home made burgers. theres one in meadowhall
-
@purplephish20 Their website says no, however a few things on Google say there is one in Leeds Shopping Plaza. I'll have to find out where it is and check.
-
-
!yorkshirebronies About the shirts. I already mentioned how it is cheaper to order 2+ in one go, however they must both be shipped to the same destination. Not too much of a problem for those who are happy to travel to Leeds at a later date and pick them up from the store, but could be problematic for those living far away. If you have a near by brony friend, you could always order them online, and have them shipped to your house. At least that way you would have the shirt in time for the meetup! :D Similarly, you could collect them in store.

@totality Oh, does it say anything about digital prints on the site? I can't find anything about it. Also, are full colour digital prints more expensive?
-
@klayking She told me that the only extra charges were based on printing on extra sides. They don't explicitly say there's digital printing but some of their own designs have gradients such as all of their stock animal designs, so they must have to be able to do those. Putting any random image on the designer seems to give me normal prices too.
-
@totality Ah cool. I'll bear that in mind!
-
-
!yorkshirebronies Hey guys, posting to let you know I'll be there. A little on the late side but I wanted to be certain. Hopefully getting a shirt too but my design needs a fair bit of work yet.

@ilovelamps Do you really love lamps or are you just saying that?

!yorkshirebronies brio's looks a little expensive....
Tuesday, 17-Jan-12 20:28:41 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies I support this idea, Pizza is always a good choice, their menu has some good alternatives for those who don't like pizza too.
Tuesday, 17-Jan-12 19:05:34 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies Good news, everypony! Pizza is back on the potential menu! I called in at Brio's; a small family run pizza place at the Light, Leeds. The manager was all too happy for me to reserve some tables for 20 of us, so if you guys want to go there, I'll go back and book it! Have a website, complete with menu: http://thelight.brios.co.uk/File/default.asp And let me know if it's a yes or a no for Brio's Pizza!

!yorkshirebronies oh hey, there's a Greggs near the station, we're as good as sorted then
Monday, 16-Jan-12 23:32:35 UTC from web-
@theawesomepinkpony Hi, apologies for the late reply, I was otherwise occupied
-
@trister its cool so what's up
-
@theawesomepinkpony Nothing really, living an uneventful life at the moment, yourself?
-
-
!yorkshirebronies I'll have some time in the afternoon before college starts tomorrow, so I'll have a look around any restaurants near my college. I noticed a carvery today, with good looking deals on food, but I'll have to check again.
Monday, 16-Jan-12 22:00:42 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies @klayking I can do a little searching tonight and see what I can come up with, do we have any idea of numbers?
Monday, 16-Jan-12 18:00:21 UTC from web-
!yorkshirebronies @trister I'd expect anywhere between 10 and 20 of us at this stage.
-
-
!yorkshirebronies About food: Nando's indeed don't take bookings so it would be a huge gamble if we showed up en masse. Anyone from Leeds know of good places to eat? Preferably vegetarian friendly. I'll need to get this stuff sorted soon so throw out some suggestions!
Monday, 16-Jan-12 17:31:09 UTC from web-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking Most restaurants have at least 2 or 3 veggie options, and that's enough for me. Beside, it's lunch, so a salad might serve this veggie pony well too. Btw, am I the only one here who likes the taste of celery? :-p
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @mattus701 Bowling, food, and if you want to buy any shirts or toys then I suppose spare money can't hurt!
Monday, 16-Jan-12 17:29:03 UTC from web-
@mattus701 Great! We'll see you there then! That's correct, bowling and Nandos for dinner, we'll be making a stop at a t shirt printing place I believe so if you want a graphic printing have one ready on a memory stick or something
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @trister Sweet. We need a page for Yorkshire photos and stuff! @gizmo Best confirm that everyone here likes s̶c̶o̶o̶t̶a̶l̶o̶o̶ chicken then. Personally, I love it! All in favour of Nando's say Aye!
Sunday, 15-Jan-12 22:42:36 UTC from web-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking So I managed to rearrange my working days to get the 28th off. In other words: I'll be there. About the food: Nandos sounds good to me, as long as they have anything without meat or fish. Eeyup, one vegetarian unicorn here. And if not, I'll just stick to the salads and appetizers. Or should I bring my own carrots, celery, oaties and apples? :-)
-
@yorkiebrony Nando's is mainly chicken, you can have a look at their menu if you're unsure though, there should be some vegetarian options http://www.nandos.co.uk/themenu
-
@klayking Not sure if you've filled up the schedule for the 28th, but if you need any self-contained events I will be able to put together a small quiz or something, might be able to throw together a batch of baked bads as well, let me know if you need any more ideas, I'm glad to help
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking Me & a friend have just found out about this & want to come is that okay?
Sunday, 15-Jan-12 23:54:03 UTC from web-
!yorkshirebronies @marusya We've got two weeks until the meetup! Of course it isn't too late! :D
-
-
!yorkshire COOL! trains are easy! Set off from Worksop at 9:14, with one switchover in Sheffield, and I arrive in Leeds at 11:02. #everythingwillgobetterthanexpected
Sunday, 15-Jan-12 23:36:57 UTC from web-
@yorkiebrony Well hello there! My train from worksop arrives in Sheffield at 9:48, and the train from Sheffield to Leeds is about 5 past 10, so that works out quite well I think!
-
@purplephish20 About 10.05? I'll try to hop on the same train. And I have MLP-shirts now :-)
-
@yorkiebrony Excelant! Excelant! I'll see you there
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking It's not too late to confirm my attendance is it? I will probably be able to make it, and I can bring a pretty high quality camera for video/photographs if you're in need of one.
Sunday, 15-Jan-12 22:07:50 UTC from web-
@trister You work at pizza hut!!??? Man! It was going to be pizza hut but the only one we could find looked shut down.. They'll be another in Leeds surely
-
@purplephish20 I was there until after 1pm last night when we got an unexpected rush near closing time, it wasn't as great as constant access to pizza first seems. but yeah, mine is in teesside but I do have a little card that should allow me a discount if there is another one within walking distance, i can have a look if you like?
-
@trister That would be Awsome! Just inform Klayking and use the group tag
-
-
!yorkshirebronies I've only been to the Nando's a couple of times, pretty great, but if you're not fond of chicken there's not much on the menu
Sunday, 15-Jan-12 01:56:10 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies I've been noseying around at other restaurants in the area. Anyone here know what Nando's is like? Some of my friends speak very highly of it.
Saturday, 14-Jan-12 23:48:19 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies OK guys, it's the two week warning! Anyone wanting to go to Leeds on the 28th at 11am should be sure to arrange travel! Also, we really need to actually work out where we are going for food! Anyone from Leeds know a good restaurant? I'll book us in at the bowling place too, if everyone is OK with that.
Saturday, 14-Jan-12 12:17:14 UTC from web-
@rotation Yep! That's correct, and a trip to a t shirt printer in case you have a good thing on a memory stick you'd like on a shirt
-
@rotation It sounds like the plan. I'm up for it if everyone else is!
-
!yorkshirebronies @purplephish20 I've been looking on Google maps, and found a Pizza Hut very near to the train station. Problem is that it is apparently permanently closed. I looked on their website too, and sure enough, it isn't listed. The next nearest one is soooo far away! D:
-
-
!yorkshirebronies Ok, by the end of the week I want to have finalised the plans. Who here would like to go bowling? Feel free to make other suggestions if you know of anything to do in Leeds. Also, where is a good place to eat? Once we have decided on places, I can get a rough headcount and book for us if necessary. Also, getting an idea of how many people want shirts would be useful, but I expect it to fall within the 2-10 bracket.
Wednesday, 11-Jan-12 23:22:27 UTC from web-
@Klayking Bowling would be Awsome but I honestly have no idea how to make my way around Leeds, like I said; I've only ever been once before in November 2009, to see Motörhead at the 02 academy... That was a mighty gig...
-
@purplephish20 Don't worry, it's right by my college so I know the route between the train station and the Merrion centre well. It is literally a 10 minute walk in a straight line!
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @purplephish20 @klayking dolein' is the word. No, make it UNBELIEVABLE! Make sure I hear 'unbelievable' next time. :) Now we just need details.
Wednesday, 11-Jan-12 23:19:18 UTC from web-
@klayking Good luck with that! The poster so far will be left until you're ready.
-
@stecissunrise Alrighty then! Did I mention already that the poster is mangoesin'? :D
-
@stecissunrise If you can finish that poster with a few of the finalised details I'm sure EQD would have it! It's great!
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @stecissunrise Oh my god, that is the most epic thing I have ever seen! :D It occurs to me that the design would make a badass shirt!
Wednesday, 11-Jan-12 22:51:22 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies Put me down for a yes, I'll be there for sure
Wednesday, 11-Jan-12 21:04:54 UTC from web-
@gizmo Hurahhh!
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking Look what I've been playing around with today: http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/SteC87/?action=view¤t=bronyposter01.jpg
Gherkin ☑️ and - like this. -
@stecissunrise That looks absolutely f****** amazing!
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking Haha, I suppose that might work xD And I'll bear the colours in mind. Maybe I'll dig out some line art or something...
Wednesday, 11-Jan-12 00:08:12 UTC from web-
!yorkshirebronies @purplephish20 Welp, thanks to my good friend Gordon Freemane, my single colour shirt design is ready! Remember, each extra colour costs you £2.50, so rainbows can be quite expensive! ------- If you were passing by in the street, would you notice the pony reference? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6674290/20%25coolerBOORIIIIING.png
-
@klayking Maybe a little blue and rainbow to add to it?
-
@purplephish20 Well, at £2.50 per colour, even if I made the text blue and had the rainbow mane in it, it would cost £15 more than it would already. That's double the price! D:
-
-
!yorkshirebronies OK, by the end of this week I hope to have finalised the plans so we can get a post up on EqD about the meetup. It also gives you guys 2 weeks to sort out travel and stuff. The rough plan so far is: --- Meet @ Leeds train station @ 11:00am. Wait until 11:30 for everyone to arrive (if in doubt, get to Leeds earlier). Hang about somewhere, get to know each other. 12:30pm go get food (anypony know of a good place to eat?). After lunch, we can go raid the Tshirt Print store and go on a ponyhunt if anyone wants some official merch. At 3:00pm we should do something, but IDK what yet! :D Maybe we should take over a café and learn to draw ponies or something, heck even watch the new episode if we can get internet! Otherwise maybe we could find some less brony central activity. Will need an accurate idea of how many people are coming though so it can be booked. At 5:00pm I guess some people will want to return home, so I haven't made any plans for later. (What would Twi say?!)
Monday, 09-Jan-12 07:08:24 UTC from web-
!yorkshirebronies @purplephish20 Thankfully, almost everywhere connects to Leeds station. And it is indeed looking like we're going to have anywhere between 10 and 20 of us!
-
@klayking Phew! I highly doubt I can get a train straight there from Worksop, but getting to Sheffield is a breeze. I'll just have to set off early
-
@purplephish20 Yeah, I had to get my usual train to Leeds, followed by a Leeds to Sheffield for the November 5th meetup. Only took about 1 and a half hours, and cost £11. Totally worth it!
-
-
!yorkshirebronies @durandal If we got 10 of those cheap 2 way splitters then we could have enough jacks. :3 Also, keep in mind that Tshirt Print only has a small range of colours, and they charge for each extra colour afaik. Won't stop me getting a simplistic design though!
Tuesday, 10-Jan-12 20:25:36 UTC from web -
!yorkshirebronies It would be awesome to watch the new episode, but I can't think how we'd manage it. I know I successfully streamed May the Best Pet Win at a Leeds Cafe Nero when I was over there in November, but I doubt they'd appreciate us watching with the sound on, and I've never heard of a laptop with 10+ headphone jacks ; ) Oh, and I'll be buying at least one t-shirt.
Tuesday, 10-Jan-12 11:46:13 UTC from web -
@purplephish20 I'll let you know beforehand if I have the time off, but I'd really like to go to the !yorkshirebronies meet! (sorry keep posting the wrong tags)
Monday, 09-Jan-12 23:57:15 UTC from web -
I really want to go to one of these !midlands meet-ups, and the February 18th one would be great. Just now need to organize travel etc.
Monday, 09-Jan-12 19:50:33 UTC from web-
@theawesomepinkpony I'm not "new", but I'm just not on here very often.
-
@rotation Aye, I was thinking the same thing. Though I'm probably going to have to sort some other things out too.
-
@ceruleanspark Yeah, that one.
-
