  1. @metaltao No. I try to use what some people call 'free software', which is described here: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html . Skype does not count as 'free software', as the GNU project defines it. I use the terminal because it is more convenient on my little laptop.

  2. @l1ghtsword I try not to use it, since it doesn't fit well with my computing ethics.

  4. @l1ghtsword She liked the painting with the colored stripes and the fruit. :-)

  5. @l1ghtsword I feel the same way sometimes about the pictures I draw. Good luck with your art.

  6. @metaltao Of course!

  7. @l1ghtsword @metaltao It's all good. Was this fun for you all?

  8. @metaltao @l1ghtsword She likes the feeling. Do you guys have any more to say about Artista the earth pony?

Thursday, 31-Jul-14 04:52:20 UTC from bti in context
  9. @l1ghtsword @metaltao Some of the greatest scientists have also been artists, writers, and musicians. How does the sand feel on Artista's hooves? Does she stretch out in the sand and grind her hooves in the dry sand? Is it uncomfortable for her hooves?

  10. @l1ghtsword @metaltao You are both right. The sky has all of those colors where she lives, and the shops sell postcards of it.

Thursday, 31-Jul-14 04:42:11 UTC from bti in context
  11. @l1ghtsword @metaltao She must. What color does she paint the night sky, when she is painting from reality?

Thursday, 31-Jul-14 04:37:35 UTC from bti in context
  12. @metaltao There's another good idea. Something where she isn't restricted.

Thursday, 31-Jul-14 04:35:46 UTC from bti in context
  13. @l1ghtsword Yeah, that would be a good place to paint her pictures. There might be beach-side arcades and non-chain fast food restaurants along the beach, where she would go in the evenings.

  14. @metaltao @l1ghtsword Artista the earth pony likes architecture. What kind of home do you think she lives in? An place with open spaces, I bet.

  15. @metaltao @l1ghtsword Artista paints in the lime and the yellow-green color and the fruit. All of the lone colors are behind the fruits. Artista the earth pony likes how the painting turned out.

  16. @metaltao @l1ghtsword One more, then. What fruit would she paint on top of those two colors?

Thursday, 31-Jul-14 04:17:29 UTC from bti in context
  17. @l1ghtsword @metaltao Good colors. Thanks for suggesting. There will be no follow-up post about this.

  18. What if Artista the earth pony painted a crisp blue streak across a white canvas? What color should she use after that? Everypony can pick.

  24. # I recommend George Orwell's short essay 'Politics and the English Language' to the author ponies here. He vouches for plainness, brevity, and imagery in writing. It can be read online.

  25. @metaltao I agree with you, but I don't think I could have changed @nahff 's mind about what direction advancement is, or why it is worthwhile to individuals, however it is defined.

  27. @e You are right. I didn't want to make anypony angry, though, so I pulled out. You can keep up the debate instead of me, if you like.

  28. @nahff One must have already decided that surviving is the most practical, to defend it with such vigor. :-) It was good chatting.

  30. @e This sounds like trolling. :-( I like to think that my philosophy major allows me to debate ethics and happiness without being discredited with a single sentence like you have done.
