- It all began when every pony asked a pony named Maroon why he was always sad. His reply was always the same-he cried. Eventually all the ponies were forced to maroon him on the island named as "Hoivyer Island" because they didn't want him to spread the sadness to the them. He there became so sad that it's said that his shadow became maroon just like his fur. It's also said that whenever he cried he became one with his shadow and you couldn't tell the difference between the two. Also according to the legend it's told that his cutie mark vanished....
