@mashuga31 some laptops put the HDD next to hot spots though which destroys it over time so you gotta be careful with that too I think

@mashuga31 The only time I bought one the connector base ended up on the floor and I stepped on it and broke it by accident. :( Fortunately I already had my laptop back with all its data still intact. (All it had was a system backup on it.)

@mashuga31 This is the first one I've bought. I didn't know what company to go with, but Buffalo had good reviews so I bought a 1TB drive from them. I'll be keeping my most important files backed up just in case, as I did with my internal.

@mashuga31 Same thing happened with my Maxtor external HDD, but once I replaced it it worked alright and is still going more than 10 years later
