  2. @leonkfox That's nice. Much as I love to diss Apple, I hope the afterlife is full of nerds, for him.

  10. @leonkfox I can't necessarily judge whether it warrants a buy or rent, but I will say that it stepped things up greatly after how bad gears of war 2 was. The Campaign, Horde mode, and beast mode are fun with friends. (Don't expect a good story of course) Multiplayer is fun again as long as you have people you can play with (random teammates online are usually bad, the AI replacement bots are worse) and the other team often uses the cheap tactics (aka the Sawn-off "I'm going to kill you no matter where you are as long as I'm near you." Shotgun) which really needs to be fixed or removed. Other than that, a better experience than GOW 2. However, nowhere near what I enjoyed from the original.

  11. @leonkfox It's a very nice App Store, admittedly. I'm just not sure it's necessarily nicer than a PS3.

  12. @leonkfox Haha yeah, it wasn't bad the first one. I played it briefly at a relatives home, and it wasn't bad. It wasn't spectacularly original, but it at least tried. Cliff Bleszinski though is unbearable to say the least so that gives me a Pavlovian aversion to the Gears franchise too. xD

  13. @leonkfox Ah, so you do want access to the app store. I was gonna say, if you just want better battery and playback, just get any reasonably sized, cheap MP3 player. No point paying apple prices to duplicate functionality you already have.

  14. @leonkfox Yeah, I don't play Gears for the story. It went downhill in 2 and the 3rd doesn't get any better. I do like how much they fixed the gameplay up even in multiplayer. The only large problem I have is the inclusion of the Sawn off shotgun.

  15. @leonkfox Yeah Gears is less than stellar in ever respect. xD

  19. @leonkfox I would go for PS3. If your phone still works, why buy another one?

  21. @leonkfox Au contraire my friend. HTC hath provided: To access the "Pre-Boot Menu", turn the phone off, then when booting it back up, hold power and volume-down until you get the safe mode menu. You'll have 4 options. "Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock". Navigate down to "Clear Storage" with the volume key, and press power to confirm. You'll be asked to confirm again by pressing volume up for yes, and volume down for no. It will then do a complete reset, the same way HTC would if you sent it to them post-bricking.

  22. @leonkfox It's worth pointing out that there are two types of wipe you can do. The "in-software" wipe you already did from the menu, and the "My phone won't even turn on anymore" wipe, which is more thorough. You could try the second kind of wipe.
