  8. @abigpony You really do confuse me. You want me to fix everything, but you also think the site would be better off without my presence. Does the cognitive dissonance involved in that sentiment not bother you a little?

  11. @pony There is no such thing as a well-reasoned argument for God, as it violates the principle of falsifiability so there's *always* going to be a flaw in the argument. You must be willing to abandon reason if you want to argue for it (and there are plenty of valid reasons why someone might want to take this path, so don't assume I'm making a value judgement here because I'm not).

  13. @leonkfox I had to leave just as half the group decended on a games workshop... else I would have missed my train.... I missed my train, ran back and luckily found the group again, and by MASSIVE coincidence, found that one of the group was from worksop as well, and lived ten minutes walk from me, so me and her headed back on the train together and walked home! Get in! We'll now be heading out for coffee sometime

  14. By the way... today we went to toys R us, and they had an entire pony section on the end of an isle, and at the top of it.... A massive Royal wedding mural, with Great big boards with shining armour, cadence, applejack and pinkie on, with flashing lights on their clothes and cutie marks, needless to say I asked if it could ever be bought... and the woman said that they all get sold at auction for charity when the display gets changed...

  15. Headed to the airport to fly back to Bristol shortly. My aunt and uncle have made my parents and I feel very much at home over the past few days. It is still a bit weird not staying at my nan's when we come to newcastle but I already feel comfortable enough to stay here again if we're invited. My sisters stayed with another aunt and uncle up here since 5 people is rather a lot to put up, we thought. I am very much going to miss my nan, but I think I'm ready to start getting back to normal. It's weird though, I thought once both of the grandparents on my dad's side were gone that I would stop coming up here, but after the past few days I've more that changed my mind about that. Is it odd to say that nan's passing seems to have bought me closer to most of my dad's side? But other than some drama yesterday I'm leaving on a positive note :)

  16. Just gotten back from the wake, following the funeral. Honestly, that was the kind of repreive (sp) I needed after the funeral, had a bundle of laughs, plenty of booze. (3 Bulmers Red Bottles, 1 Pint of Woodpecker, 1...yagabomb, NO IDEA how you spell that xD and 7 Red Bull + Vodkas :P. Talked to a cousin I haven't proper spoken to in years and chatted to two of dad's mates like I'd known them for years even though I couldn't remember meeting them within my memory. I need to keep in touch with this side of the family more, be it via Facebook or whatever. It was an amazing time and she would have loved her send off. I feel we've all done her proud and that means the world to me :)

  20. “Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” ― C.S. Lewis

  24. @leonkfox You'd never bloody believe it, we all had plans to go and raid this giant ASDA near the train station on a blindbag/brushie hunt.... when we all got there we collectively #'ed at the realisation that it was in fact.... Asda's head office! not a store.... It didnt help they had giant green signs up showing offers.... It looked like a completely legit supermarket!

  25. About today First off, I found that me and @LeonKFox were on the same train at Bristol Temple Meads, though he ended up on the First Class carriage. xD We then found out that, even though me and him played it safe by taking early trains, it wasn't needed and we ended up an hour early. After we all arrived, we headed down to the Toymaster to look at the ponies. Some really nice guy (RJ91 on Twitter) got me the big Fluttershy toy, because, even though I wanted it, I wouldn't have the money to get other things, like food and drink. I wanted to pay him back in some way, but he was fine doing it without me paying back. Afterwards, we all chilled out for a bit by the cathedral (which still had the Occupy protests going on xD), found out there was a rainbow :3 Then we walked around for a bit, finally stayed for a bit at the Boston Tea Party, chatted for a bit, took a group photo and then we all went our separate ways, aside from me and Leon. Overall, excellent day ^.^

  30. @abigpony It may not last forever, this is true, but ponies have been around since 1980. It's only the recent line that converted like 99% of us. It's lasted over 30 years. kids grew up and because adults who still cherish their childhood ponies. Who's to say that we wont keep fluttershy, applejack, rainbow dash, rarity, twilight sparkle, pinkie pie, luna, celestia, derpy, doctor whooves, and all the rest in our hearts for the rest of our lives? We are the one who made the fandom big. And when the show goes off the air for good (hopefully not till season 8 or something like that), we will have left a very long legacy. Tons of pmv's, music, fanfics, pics, OC's, and more. We've met tons of friends, made new relationships, and become better and nicer people (99% of us most likely). It's gonna be something I will always look back on fondly and carry till my dying day, and when I lay in that casket, I will have the core 6 with me. That's what MLP means to me, and to many others.
