@pony But, see, gods already failed us. We can only take on projects that we as humans can accomplish. And it would be utterly unfair, and even evil, to force the responsibility of shouldering humanity upon those who are born with an above average level of ability and intellect. It's like saying "Oh hey, you have a gift! So we'll just let you do all the work because you're better" In a true meritocracy there's no opression, whereas in this model you present, the opression is upon those better than the rest.
