@nerthos @pony The school was part of a decade old experimental program that allowed schools greater autonomy in their day to day running in exchange for having to fund themselves through private sources. Part of that manifested itself as being able to pick and choose what students it wanted, rather than following the "You must take students if you have places for them unless you are some kind of religious institute" rule regular british schools follow.
