@clayinthecarpet I find that most people don't know everything about any given topic that they're debating. It's not really even so important to know everything often. I think it's just a matter of forming an opinion based on what is known and can be safely assumed. You don't have to win a debate to enjoy it either, but honestly I don't like to debate things I don't know about so I usually end up not changing my view in any given debate. When I don't know I prefer to just ask questions. Sometimes the questions themselves sort of turn into a debate. I'm rambling now
