@bobthecheesegal Well then you need to ask yourself a few things. (Disclaimer: I have not held down a girlfriend for more than a month, I have no idea how these things work, and my advice is probably terrible.)
Have you taken the time to explain to him why what he's saying upsets you? I'm trusting he's not a total asshole, and if you can help him understand what he's doing to hurt you and agrees to work on it, then great! If, however, said boyfriend IS an asshole and doesn't respect your opinion enough to not insult it, then is it really worth it?
