@mrdragon I don't mean this as offense to anyone - but the way I see the mlp community is in waves of people. Initially, it was a college and above crowd that spent their time online and was involved in various communities that found mlp; this was before mlp was featured in countless news articles and on 'meme' websites. It was also before mlp became an acceptable thing online, as most of the initial users were met with fairly harsh feedback on other websites. It was this initial community that banded together however and formed the websites we now have (rdn being a late example of such). When the end of the common american school year rolled around, however, a surge of middle school and high school students who weren't as involved online during semester came into the scene; finding shortcuts into the community in the form of knowyourmeme.com and other reference websites.
