@mrmattimation Homeowner Association ? I reckon that is mostly an American invention. Down here when you wanna build something it has to "fit in" with the rest of the buildings according to city hall ( which can sometimes make awfull desisions IMHO ) ... However if you want to "allign picket fences" and all that stuff, well, noone ever does that. I live in one of the most cooperative neighbourhood where we do community BBQ's and halloween and arrange more stuff like that. But those are basically 5 guys coming together organizing stuff and asking whether someone wants to join pitching in on event X. At most picket fences are bought with neighbours and you see "conjoined" gardens, but nothing as strict as a Homeowner's Association as I see in American movies. ... Everyone is pretty much free to do as they please.
