@rednorth I really hate Head Cannon, it feels a bit limiting to only try and believe on possibility when there is a Metaphorical universe of Ideas you can play with.
We can also discuss the possibility that Time never "Started" For Alicorns, Time always was and always will be, and the Alicorns were as well. So, there was always an Alicorn that Granted the powers and Shape of an Alicorn to another Mortal Pony. (Or, other creature, if creativity will allow it.) And, that maybe, there is a Fundamental Constant within the Universe such as Magic. Which, may mean, there are several instances of other Alicorns in other forms other than ponies. Or, that the Alicorns are a Race that has spread over the Galaxy to basically govern any life forms they find and, hold them to Idolitic Status.
