@scriba True, but it's only through the vast, if sometimes apprehensive, expansion of one's palate that they will refine their critical bias. Plus consuming and discussing media you aren't fond of in a healthy manner can help put what you are fond of into a better frame of reference, right?
But you're right, re-listening to and reviewing works that I didn't explicitly love for the sake of giving them a less than sheer excellent score is pretty silly. I guess I just don't my writing to go into a slump, you know? I definitely prefer praising the media I love a lot more than criticizing the media I don't, and pretty much any review I have written so far has been for an album I want to discuss in some capacity, but I suppose I'd still like to give my writing variety to improve it. Or at the very least I don't want to get too repetitive with my material, the odd time in a blue moon I do put a write up out anyway.
