@redenchilada That... might actually make sense. Especially considering just two lines earlier he sings "who do you trust?". It certainly makes more sense than my previous reading of it, which was just it being a really archaic metaphor for abortion (which is mentioned elsewhere in the song, and also because before and after it he sings "will they feed us the womb?"). But yeah, covering up one's lies works well in the song's context, especially since the whole truth/lie duality is a major theme of the song overall.
