Tho, I still believe one of the biggest problems that caused the turmoil in the middle east (Other than World War one) was the U.S's involvement.
Well, not exactly, but it's incredibly uncalculated Political Agenda.
Like Vietnam or Korea, they kept employing those who are oppressive because they allegedly shared the same beliefs as the US did. Such as Democracy or Oil rights.
A 100% Shia Government all employed and put into power by the US then (Of course) made laws that oppressed the Sunni Minority.
And, thus, later, led to a revolution and then the same thing happened in an act of vengeance once we left. And, the whole cycle repeated itself.
