    @scribus Funding. Puerto Rico's economic state isn't the best right now and if they were a state the federal government would sort of be obligated to fix it. In addition, Puerto Rico, like other non-state territories, doesn't have any representatives or Senators in Congress, and, unlike Washington, D.C., doesn't have any electoral power during Presidential elections.
