  1. @scribus Japan has its own issue in that regard. While they're generally efficient, at least in industry, they tend to follow the toyota philosophy of "do everything in teams" and "get rid of everything that isn't immediately needed". That sounds good in paper, but it makes everything dependant on clockwork logistics. If something breaks there are no spare parts on the warehouse (or decomissioned decives to scavenge from) and if for whatever reason the company that sells the spares isn't working that day you can look forward to the production line halting for a day or more.
