@nerthos I think that maybe that trend of thought has come and gone throughout history. I feel like there's usually been a few people serious about getting things done, and most people just sort of drifting. That's probably changed a bit in times and places of crisis.

@nerthos I have to disagree with you, but I see where you're coming from: you think we've lost some fundamental guidelines and it's messed things up pretty bad.

@yodelerty It feels like movies and their tie-ins, TV shows, and toy lines came and went faster, say, 20 years ago, than they do today. Take Zelda, for example, or the Mario Brothers franchise, both of which have had good, long runs, or "The Lion King". I've never been to a toy store and not seen merchandise for that film on the shelves.

The days of cable access television, will be sorely missed. It was a fertile soil (which consisted largely of an ingredient unsurprising to anyone familiar with fertilizer) but which germinated such greats as MST3K and inspired Wayne's World.
