  9. @northernnarwhal argument fallacy: darkwing duck is by far not the coolest 90s cartoon. Swat Kats and Gargoyles are better, for example

  16. @randomkid so you can understand baseless magic but love between two sentient beings rocks your suspension of disbelief? You put scientific rationale on pause for it all until you see two characters expressing love. Juuust making sure

  17. @randomkid theres a couple hundred species that do, and if you cite science as a reason to dislike gay horses you may also have a problem with their flying, magic, ability to talk...

  18. @randomkid not to sound mean spirited. Im just grumpy that i have to go to work soon and work in 90 degree weather. Not your fault

  19. @randomkid as a former fanfiction writer, i can tell you that im writing a relationship and not a sexual preference. I wrote a quick Rarishy last year and my prompt to myself was why Rarity would be interested in Fluttershy, not why Rarity is interested in females. Do you understand the difference? If all you can think about is the sexual preference then thats not on me

  20. @thelastgherkin i was trying to tell you i could explain any natural phenomena you picked and the result would be the same: you'll either appreciate how it works or you wont. And some people go further and dont appreciate it for reasons ive mentioned

Friday, 23-May-14 09:22:32 UTC from web in context
  21. @thelastgherkinthe natural world is wonderful and even moreso when we understand it. But people wanna look for meaning that isnt there, or some depraved people only find things wonderful if it wraps into some personal continuity of spirituality or philosophy. Then they think science is ugly because it is formal and well-practiced

  22. @thelastgherkin spelling corrections - observable, and honey

Friday, 23-May-14 09:09:02 UTC from web in context
  23. @thelastgherkin given the research most obeervable phenomena can be adequately explained. Now if she expects some special deep meaning in why something is, that's where the line is drawn. Yes hoey it's beautiful but it's not there solely to serve the personal destinies f human beings

Friday, 23-May-14 09:08:12 UTC from web in context
  24. @thelastgherkin simple i live in america the most superstitious 1st world country

  25. @thelastgherkin give an example

Friday, 23-May-14 09:01:10 UTC from web in context
  26. @thelastgherkin she openly ridicules logic and reason as cold inhuman things, and is apprehensive about science probably due to media hype. You know the whole gmo's are bad therefore science destroys the world hyperbole, etc

Friday, 23-May-14 08:59:28 UTC from web in context
  27. @thelastgherkin yes! If you saw the discussion we had, you'd understand why i feel so alone
