@purplebear merci beaucoup
-
@purplebear no one asked you. the mighty empire will take your land and make lovely cookies and never share them with you
-
@purplebear Didn't Zenobia also rebel against the Roman Empire or am I thinking of someone else?
-
@purplebear Oh man, I've haven't taken history in years. A lot of it was interesting but I also had to sift through a bunch of boring prerequisite stuff.
-
@purplebear Wow, I wish my homework was that easy.
-
@purplebear 1256=2*2*2*157. Lascaux is a complex of caves in France, the importance of the paintings is that recent research has shown that they may implement prehistoric star charts.
-
@purplebear the factorization: 2x2x2x157
-
@purplebear Not even trying to do what you can't do...
-
@purplebear That's the spirit
-
@purplebear how clever of you
-
@purplebear The GCF is 5. 1345/2860 => 269/572. For that second part the LCM of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 is 60, which is problematic because 60 is also divisible by 6 and therefore any number with factors of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 can also go evenly into 6.
-
@purplebear HOW ARE YOU GONNA GET GOOD AT IT IF YOU ASK OTHERS TO DO IT
-
@purplebear man I already finished my homework I don't wanna do any more math
-
@purplebear You're in sixth grade nothing's out to get you
-
@purplebear life?
-
@purplebear My girlfriend won't. :c
-
@purplebear Oh, nice. Rescues are good, I've had a few rescue pets in my life.
-
@purplebear What kind of cat is it?
-
@purplebear I have a few pets. I have 2 cats (one's three years old, one's 7 months), a gerbil, and a pet Fyf
-
@purplebear I would definitely like life a lot less without mine.
-
@purplebear Except I don't love school I just love learning :p
-
@purplebear No problem, it's nice to see people so eager to learn.
-
@purplebear I dunno, I have a book for it that I read from. It's pretty long though (typical of many of Plato's works) so I'd only recommend it if you have lots of time to kill. Great read though, really interesting.

@purplebear His dialogues are all really interesting as well. Specifically I've recently been reading The Republic, and he makes interesting points on how in an ideal society doesn't need art as art is merely an imitation of reality, and therefore an inferior distraction. However, it's ironic because it's being told through a dramatic dialogue, which in itself is a work of art. One of Plato's students, Aristotle, actually touches upon this in one of his works and explains how art in itself can used a form of catharsis from reality ("catharsis" actually coming from the Greek κάθαρσις meaning "purification"). All really interesting stuff.

@purplebear I've been really enjoying Plato's works, especially this little piece of prose on music: "Η μουσική είναι ένας ηθικός νόμος. Δίνει ψυχή στο σύμπαν ,φτερά στο νου , πτήση στη φαντασία , και γοητεία και ευθυμία στη ζωή και τα πάντα." Translated, it means "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything."
