  6. @ponydude I went to the February one briefly, but was still going through some serious emotional crap about stepping down.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 06:59:14 UTC from web in context
  7. @ponydude I'm not involved iwth the meetup group either.

  8. @ponydude I'm not on ANY con staff, and as for Everfree, I never was on their staff (though I wish them well).

  9. @policeman I am not in charge of ANY con. I have NEVER been in charge of Everfree.

  10. @ponydude I'm registered on livestream.com as purpletinker. Not sure if that means no one else could masquerade as that name. Maybe. Maybe not.

  11. @ponydude I was in the audience chatting.

  13. @purplephish20 @minti @mrdragon CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Wednesday, 07-Mar-12 23:45:00 UTC from web in context
  14. @mrdragon F'course. I'm not leaving the site as a user, just as an admin.

Wednesday, 07-Mar-12 23:44:27 UTC from web in context
  15. @minti mmm, maybe I will make the upgrade myself as a last present to the site before the changeover. And, while I'm at it, roll my patches into an easy-to-apply diff file....

  16. @minti Upgrading StatusNet would be a pain. I'd made various minor changes to the codebase that would have to be patched back in. Things like adding links to the menu at the top right, requiring email validation, things like that.

Wednesday, 07-Mar-12 23:38:53 UTC from web in context
  17. @mrdragon Sent your message to Cabal for consideration, and thanks! :>

  18. @forestrain Don't worry about funding. As long as I'm paying (i.e.: until the changeover), everything will be fine. AFTER the changeover, perhaps the new host will want moneys. Talk to him or her once the changeover occurs. :)

  19. @mrdragon I'm working with Cabal on finding a suitable new admin, and possibly also a suitable new host (sometimes, suitable admins have convenient access to suitable hosts ;) ). Nothing will happen to RBDN. I wouldn't let it happen.

  20. @ecmc1093 Awww. Thanks. I think I blushed a bit. Honestly? The best part of having stepped down from BronyCon is that now I can ENJOY BronyCon! SO looking forward to it.

  21. @mrdragon Thankyew! There's not much to say, really. Haters are hatin'. Funniest part is when they talk like I made it rich off BronyCon. Damn, how I wish I did.

  22. @brony001 I know, right?

  23. @mushi Thanks for the cute pic! Yeah, some angry ex-staffers have been slamming me on 4chan. They're upset because I wouldn't give them financial control over the con. They walked out, and they've been spreading nasty rumours about me ever since, twisting and distorting everything I've ever done to make me look like a monster. I put up a fairly comprehensive response to the most central lines of BS they're spreading about me at http://purpletinker.deviantart.com/journal/Leaving-BronyCon-behind-288978187 .

  24. @ecmc1093 Naah. I didn't start it. I just paid the bills for a while. Rename it Cabal Network for a day.

Wednesday, 07-Mar-12 23:13:08 UTC from web in context
  25. @mushi I wanted to step down, and evidently Cabal's first reaction was to say 'okay, RBDN's going away'. That's ... NOT what I wanted. ;)

Tuesday, 06-Mar-12 21:34:43 UTC from web in context
  26. Whoa whoa whoa whoa wait wait wait what? Wait. Hang on. Cabal's letting RBDN die? No, no, that's not acceptable. I'll talk to him.

  27. @cabal I'm sorry. I've been a bit occupied.

  28. @colfax I disabled the geolocation plugin for now. Let's see if it helps. If so, I can probably implement a local geolocation proxy. That'd cut down on the number of requests we send.

  29. Looks like it's possible that the site problems were due to us exceeding the daily quota for the geolocation service we used. Or a DoS attack. Or both! 9.6

  30. @serrio I have no idea what, if anything, is going on. I've heard the server has gone down several times. No clue why.
