BTW chkdsk /f said the filesystem contained "no errors". I think all my .android_security/*asec files might be in LOST.DIR. !android

Just found out my rsync backup didn't backup the files in .android_secure.On sdcard the dir is empty but 2 apps I installed after the crash.

@mcscx try resstoring the .android_secure folder form your backup . this is where android stors apps on the SD card.

Will try chkdsk. I've already made a dd backup of the sdcard.

@mcscx if you can mount the Sdcard on a laptop as a harddrive (rather then MTP access) you can chkdsk/fsck it which might fix the problem

@mcscx sounds like the crash corrupted either your FAT filesystem or mangles you .android_secure files Welcome to #DRM hell

...I found (in rsync backup log) that the missing apps have disappeared from /data/system/packages.list. If re-added they disappear again.

... I'd like to fix this problem by restoring the files causing it from the newer backup, if I knew which files. The hosts file is OK.

...I have two backups: a CWM backup dated May 3 and a rsync backup from 5 days ago of all files of the device. So there's hope.
