@silverbrony Spoilers are tagged and encoded, so all they'll see is gibberish but the spoiler tag will let them know whether or not they want to decode it.

@silverbrony They allow you to see all posts tagged with a certain hashtag by clicking on it. As @macpony55 said, #spoilers and #nsfw are big ones, as is #redashammo. :p

@silverbrony I don't really use Twitter either, hashtags are sorta just like the "general topic" of a post, usually something that's being used a lot or when it applies to a particular thing like say #spoilers for example or #nsfw, it's just meant to stand out more than regular text and allow notices to be sorted

@silverbrony It's to categorize posts, like how spoilers are marked with #spoiler. Most of us just use them for #hashtagabuse though, to make jokes and such.
