If your #Linux distribution is having poor sound performance (means a lot stuttering) maybe #pulseaudio is installed. This was here the case: I tried to playback a 340p video from #youtube and had bad stuttering in sound. When I switched to #ALSA the hickups were simply away. So I just uninstalled it as no other program seems to want it and my system now performs very well. It is btw. a #R51 #Thinkpad with 1.7 GHz and 750 MB RAM ... So not the latest technology. ;-)

Что может быть веселее разбирания того, как заставить нормально работать звук на #PulseAudio или хотя бы #ALSA под ARM-нетбуком #Toshiba #AC100?

I don't care what people keep telling me. I don't how how "supposedly great" #PulseAudio is. I've been giving it new chances over and over and over for the last two years, and I've ALWAYS had issues with it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. As always, I'm back to #ALSA. At least the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture WORKS.

@ghostdancer that would help with a significant lag plus dirty transcode issues. That would be perfect to solve it using #alsa only

!debian http://ur1.ca/8q7ul 2nd line: does anyone really have it enabled by default? #dmix #alsa
