  3. If your # distribution is having poor sound performance (means a lot stuttering) maybe # is installed. This was here the case: I tried to playback a 340p video from # and had bad stuttering in sound. When I switched to # the hickups were simply away. So I just uninstalled it as no other program seems to want it and my system now performs very well. It is btw. a # # with 1.7 GHz and 750 MB RAM ... So not the latest technology. ;-)

  5. @kat I disagree that they're ad hominem attacks. # and # are both examples of solutions in search of problems which deprived users of choice as distributions--not users--chose them and imposed their choice on users. Anyone who supports "free software" ought to be up in arms about this. And as such, we are looking at issues not just of good software practice but psychological issues of control and domination.
