well, on a 'used system' the Linux Mint installer is a FAIL - you can assign partitions and crate an fstab yourself, then it goes through the motions, and ends up saying grub was not correctly configured. Meanwhile Fedora boots bit still exist, including the *old* grub menu, no new one anywhere at all. Guess I'll have to wipe the HD completely to get Mint to install... #tomorrow, maybe!

wonderful - backup of Dennis's root partition to the #NAS is now also finished! (So I can now overwrite it all with a new install!) now I can sleep without worries, and maybe #tomorrow I'll install Linux Mint with Cinnamon (after backing up some settings of my Live session!).

oh, lovely - I'm getting an error on opening Synaptic :( too tired by now to tackle that and #tomorrow I'll have to do the translation first thing: I already lost far too much time with my reboot problem :(

also, I just had a brainwave that solves another problem that's been bugging me for days: why some drives are mounted twice... I made a note and will test it #tomorrow, because I need to sleep! but I'm pretty sure my theory is correct ;-) good night !tzaf !fediverse - #tomorrow I'll study more on mounting drives and how to optimize (and not get into trouble) :)
