  1. Thought about also doing Majima and Saejima but a) four characters is already a lot! and b) somebody already did that + Daigo

    • It’ll be tedious as hell but probably I will separate them—Haruka, Yagami+Kaito, and Akiyama—as individual mods, then also include one all-in-one package with just everybody. That seems to make the most sense to me.

      • The larger in scope this mod becomes the harder it becomes to organize. I’ve thought about splitting it into several, one for each character added, but the problem with that is every character in the game is stored in the same bin file, every ability the same, every outfit the same, etc. so at the end of the process I would still need to manually merge everything together into one package or else you won’t be able to use anyone together because the mod loader only load in the highest priority character

        • Got my ESP8266 micro controller with IR receiver and sender working. I recorded my TV remote button presses and now it works as expected with the ESPUI library for the browser front-end. I want to add a REST API interface so I can write another program to use the REST API. I want to write a multi-platform .net program that can be deployed on Linux, Windows, Android, IOS, and WebAssembly (web browser). I don't like the ESPUI library that much. It works for sure but I have problems with the design. In the future I can add more devices to control. Also I think about having a presence detector that automatically pauses youtube videos when I leave the room.

            • @zeldatra At least you got practice, even when it's not the best. I'm a software developer for over 7 years and in my last project (ended a few days ago) it is littered with crimes I did. Mostly because I was not given enough time to do it properly. It is of great value to know which "technical debt" one has caused and how to mitigate it next time. There are only a few principles one has to follow to write good code like writing modular code that has as few dependencies as possible to solve the problem, naming the variables and functions and classes clear enough such that they convey their intent unmistakably, and writing code that can be reused. The last point is a nice to have but for a small project it is probably too much hassle except it is really needed more than once in the program. Otherwise software is malleable enough to be rewritten with the power given by the knowledge of hindsight, meaning good ol' refactoring.

            • Sigh… Looks like it’s either play as Matt Mercer’s dull Majima for 50 hours… or deal with an entire island of white and Hispanic people who speak fluent Japanese, again. Thanks for that, RGG.

                • Life lesson: It's easier to solder two stacking PCBs together via pins than to remove all that solder to disassemble. I got a new solder sucker and it sucks. I mean it is not very good. That solder sucker is an iFixit solder sucker and i'd give it a rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars. The nozzle is way too big for 2.54mm pitched pins and the suction action itself is a little bit too weak.

                    • I binge-read the final book of "Delicious in Dungeon". It was a very satisfying read. The most prominent thing I respect about the book is that after the climax there is a whole book that serves as an epilogue. A lot of stories just wind up cut short and don't give the reader time to say goodbye to the characters. What do the heroes do when the adventure is over? What are their dreams and goals after that? The last chapters gave time to resolve character arcs, tie some things from the earlier chapters into the final scenes, and give some needed introspection and levity. I'm glad I read the books but without the anime I hadn't pulled the trigger.

                      • I'm reading Delicious in Dungeon. Right now I'm at volume 9 out of 14. Oh boy. I liked the anime but being at the point I'm at reading I elevate this status tenfold. A revelation so big it changed my perspective. Not many things have genuinely did that to me.

                                    • Christmas D&D adventure idea: A monster that breaks into people's houses during winter solstice but it leaves its eggs under the tree. Usually nothing happens as the recipients are asleep and eat the eggs for breakfast. However when a group of outsiders (the players' characters) happen to observe break-ins the monster turns hostile. Also when the eggs aren't eaten until the end of day they hatch and the true horror can begin.

                                    • The Star Wars Skeleton Crew series is pretty solid. All the 3 episodes that are released so far are good. It shows more quality in story telling than most of the other streaming series. Andor is obviously better but that's almost an unfair comparison. The only irksome part is the almost real-life looking suburb that feels not very Star-Wars-y. I can guarantee it is on purpose and has lore reasons. I can glance over it because so far I don't feel like everything has purpose behind and doesn't appear to be random for the sake for being different.

My mother gets her yearly request of a calendar with boxes that are as big as possible and with no date sharing the same box. Also I'm printing a calendar for myself for the garbage pickup for the next year. It helps greatly not to forget when to put out the trash bins. So far I only missed only one time because I forgot. Also I missed some on purpose because my plastic bin wasn't even quarter full and I was lazy.
