  3. @scribus Hmmm... An underwater adventure about merfolk having a great fest with food and games, as well as a battle tournament. However the tournament is disrupted by a ghost crab and kills off or scares off combatants of the tournament to death.

  7. Sweet Tooth Season 3 on Netflix was fine. It's hard to say but the plot development was not so satisfying in the last 3-4 episodes. The supernatural aspect of the plot was both unwanted and underwhelming. There were hints of some supernatural visions in the past but could be handwaved easily. Burning the tree and its sudden stopping of all of the disease is headscratching nonetheleast. Also it being the global source of it is even more suspicous. I guess the whole story should be viewed more like a fable than any ordinary plot-driven story. I rate the season a 5/10, where the previous were more 7-8/10.

  8. I have to make a small demo program with the Hololens (1st generation), however I was stumbling real hard to get it running. Not only was most of the documentation old but outdated and confusing because of the Hololens 2. Also the tooling is outdated. I need to use Unity 2019.4. Also the parts that "should" work don't. I had to literally remove all XR plugins from the package manager, that should work, but the built-in XR layer of Unity 2019 is the only thing that works with the pinch gesture (it's basically like a mouse click action).

  10. Horror movie where the protagonist encounters a dead person wearing an employee uniform and the protagonist says "Jesus Christ!" in shock, while the camera is zooming on the name tag of the person saying "Jesus Crist".

  15. @scribus Never watched Office Space. It's a thinly veiled horror show of work life. Season one is about the struggles of a changing industry and a new employee getting in the crossfire during that time, season two continues that but with a ton of self doubt.

  17. Oh man. ICQ is shutting down. I've had an account since 2003. Still know my login ID. Eventually I stopped using it as ICQ was actively making extremely difficult to use 3rd party clients. I used KDE Kopete (Linux) and Trillian (Windows) for years and years until everything broke. There isn't really any multi-client messager anymore.

  20. In terms of my "getting a new smartphone"-problem: I found out that the Sony Xperia 10 VI will be released soon and the asking price is 400€. It's still expensive and more than I'm currently willing to pay, but I'll wait for reviews to gauge if it's worth.

  21. It's baffling how many free trampolines are out there. I'm thinking about getting a few. Not for me. A family member has some apple trees on their grounds and my idea is to use the trampoline frame as a frame for a net to capture falling apples. Also most free trampolines come with free nets, so it's double the value. Also I'd use the poles of the nets, used as a side protection for falling off the trampoline, to construct a foil greenhouse for my tomatoes, or at least a simple roof to protect from excessive rain.

  22. Got a small steel cabinet for 20 Eurocurrency. Big enough to store hand tools. It's not the prettiest and has some dings and scratches, however still way cheaper than anything from the hardware store. The handles for each drawer are attached with simple M4 nuts. They get loose quickly. I have enough lock nuts.

  24. @zeldatra Can it really be worse than Paradise PD on Netflix? I was instantly disgusted by Paradise PD. Also I never heard or Mr. Birchum. Just the name of the show sounds like a show about a family in a box standard suburb and Mr Birchum is the mostly clueless but well-meaning man with emotional and communication problems towards his family.

  25. Whenever RGG decides to kill off the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series they should end it all with making it all an Inner Fighter simulation that Kiryu played. And then Kiryu should say that this "simulation" was completely not based on his life and in every way imaginable exaggerated with nonsensical twists and too much drama.

  26. On the bright side: Found by accident an almost new CRT TV for FREE!!! Just contacted the seller and I will drive tomorrow to pick it up. It's a "medium" size PHILIPS Flat Screen CRT TV of about 24''-26'' (hard to judge the exact size).

  27. I decided against buying the Xperia 10 V. 350 Eurobucks ain't cheap in the first place, the price jumped up for some reason by 30€. Even the older version is barely cheaper and the lack of future updates make it even less appealing. Gonna squeeze a little bit more life out of my Blackberry.

  29. @zeldatra It's sad that US politics is so extremely polarized for so long that only two parties are "viable" for voting. I don't know but maybe he was leaning towards Republican because of some topics that were OK but was ignoring the horrible other stuff and rationalized them away.

  30. @adiwan The flyer was in my mailbox because of the EU parliament election. Also I got my election papers informing me where I have to vote or how to get the by-mail-voting arranged. The voting booth is in another Elementary School than I'm used to, although not living that far away. Gonna have to find out where it's located and such.
