@scribus only tangentially related, but i have a batcave-load of both biological and marriage-related family that i've never met for various reasons. On the biological side, my grandmother was adopted out of a family of mostly prostitutes and drug dealers. On the marital side, my mother's half-sister's father is (was, he might be dead) apparently a high-ranking member of the Puerto Rican Mafia up in New York, powerful enough that he had my grandmother and my grandfather arrested on trumped-up kidnapping charges when she left him.
-
@scribus Well, yeah, that too
-
@scribus Wouldn’t be unheard of tbf, one of the recurring characters is a Congressman so I imagine the caps would make their way out there fairly often. Still.
-
@scribus Where’re all of my Stalin fetishists at?
-
@scribus There is a MLP series currently running called "Pony Life". It's the mane six in an Equestria with modern technology. The episodes are all 5 minutes long and the series' style is Teen-Titans-Go-ish. The story substance is very shallow as a result of this. Not horrifyingly bad, mostly meh.
BTW: There is a G5 movie announced that will be released on Netflix. There are some character designs and screen shots released. -
@scribus Our most frequent shoplifters are teenagers grabbing White Claw and just walking out with them, but they’re really, really bad at it. They seem to think I’m literally going to hunt them down, so if they even think I know they’re stealing that drop their papaya and leave. Just the other night a kid was walking toward the exit with a case in hand and I wasn’t really paying attention, but he thought I saw him so he pretended he was just walking over to the produce to get something. Once I realized what was going on I just kinda stood there until eventually he walked back into the aisles, hid the goods, and left without making a further issue.
-
@scribus Nope, shoplifters just use the regular exits regardless. Nah, these kids were like showing up overnight, smashing the windows, and grabbing whatever cash they could before dipping (which, at my store, would have been about $900)
-
@scribus Many years ago I had also a few deaths in the family within a short time frame. At least I didn't have to buy a new suit because the one still fit.
-
@scribus Now you can make everything artsy!
-
@scribus waaaay smarter than the guy I saw filling barrels.
-
@scribus Personally I’m a pretty big fan of the argument that the woke left is canceling his horse
-
@scribus With the exact same argument you can say that German would be choice :D
-
@scribus yeah
-
@scribus Location would only show City. Privacy options would include display controls for name, social media links, city and few other. Most would be set to private by default.
-
@scribus Yeah. I took the image from https://www.artstation.com/artwork/361zm , removed the bottom half of the picture, AI upscaled it with http://waifu2x.udp.jp/ and enhanced the colors to match the other portraits of the other players that are used for the character tokens in Roll20.
-
@scribus I get what you mean. I just wanted a slightly female-coded (to my monkey brain) lizard-woman that doesn't scream "look at my bewbs" or appears to be sexualized. The attached image is the one I will use as it is currently the closest to what I'm imagining for a female lizardfolk druid potion brewer. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/875898

@scribus Todd Howard announces at E3 that it directly ties into the flow of bottle caps in-game through an online server, which sounds cool in theory, but in practice everyone loses money because somebody figured out you could duplicate them by making your companion pick the world object up while you’re pressing the button at the same time.
-
@scribus You’d think so, right? Ultimately the people who make those arguments have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. Or they heard that Disney used to wash cels in the 60s when they were on the verge of bankruptcy and assumed that EVERYONE did that.
-
@scribus They don’t. I saw somebody claiming the other day that pre-digital stock footage was ok because you can’t reuse cels so they had to redraw the sequence it every time which is obviously 100% untrue. It’s based entirely on whether you personally like the show in question or not because subjectivity is out of style, there has to be an objective reason now why you don’t like it (“it’s lazy” being the most common one).
-
@scribus The plot of a small-town cop trying to move to a city with more crime so that he gets to shoot people hits different today too!
-
@scribus with such a massive library of stuff, a good 70% of which was super obscure and hard to come by to begin with, it's understandable that you have to use some weird sources since the original print is, in a lot of cases, not available, and they did do a really good job in a lot of areas - like managing to produce HD copies of things that were made decades ago - but it's insane to me that they didn't cut any of the commercials, especially since they DID cut contemporary movie trailers and multiple references to the NBC network, where it aired, from the same program. What was the editing standard?
-
@scribus Holy chrome, I cannot believe I finally located the answer
-
@scribus It's half as bad as it sounds. It's only a 5mm (1/5th inch) cut. I tried a new transparent matte nail polish and it looks almost as good as new, except for a little blood under the nail and a little bit of white around the cut. I applied 4 thick coats and the finger nail is usable for light work like scratching the nose.
-
@scribus the relief that I felt when I got mine was so strong, I almost broke down right there in my store.
-
@scribus I'm sooooooooo jealous. None of my family had a shot yet.
-
@scribus Only tangentially related, but i was always a big fan of this video by Lyle Wrath & Chris O'Neill which basically subverts YouTube "savior" culture where wealthy YouTubers will make a huge deal about it when they donate to charity or whatever. http://rainbowdash.net/url/875874
-
@scribus Then onwards!
-
@scribus I've never seen any movie he created (directed or produced). The closest would have been the Toxic Avenger cartoon. Maybe I've seen the first Toxic Avenger but I have seen so many clips of the movie my memory isn't sure about watching it at all. All assimilated by popculture osmosis.

@scribus EMBRACE THE JANK! SWEDE YOUR OWN FILM BEFORE IT HAS ANY OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE ANY SIGNIFICANT BUDGET!
-
@scribus Take stock images, print them out, glue them on a stiff cardboard on a stick (each) and film them wiggling with a camera.
