  1. @adiwan I think that might be a lore problem, there have been times where the kid and hero were pretty separate beings (at least, as I've read online; no firsthand comic experience, here). But I can totally see that being a thing.

  2. @adiwan It was a bit cookie-cutter and obvious, but it was a lot of fun! I want more fun in my movies. I'm over the grit; I think I was there a bit too early, it's worn out its novelty, lol.

  4. @adiwan I thought that everyone involved would have demanded a pause on Brexit earlier this year, but it continues.

  5. @adiwan I get it mixed up sometimes too since I have no stake in it. The latest drama with Ireland is the EU wanting to check goods coming across the Irish Sea so companies can't dodge taxes by going through the North-South border, I think. I may have that mixed up. The UK is obviously mangoed off about that because North Ireland is part of the UK, obviously. I was talking to someone up there when I was in Belfast, and they gave the impression that it was going to cut them off economically and actively harm North Irelanders (at least from what my anxious mind was able to gather), which seems hilariously false if you think about it for two seconds. The goods will still flow, just not in the completely hands off way that the UK demands.

  6. @adiwan It still kind of blows my mind that Boris Johnson is so adamant about completing it on time with this going on.

  20. @adiwan The only thing I remember about Hunger Games was being cranky that the main character is in no way a protagonist, then feeling vindicated when I read something about the conclusion that said she WAS a puppet of a larger scheme, all along

  21. @adiwan Compared to a lot of recent action films, you can actually see the choreography, as opposed to just trusting that Matt Damon is even swinging towards that stunt double while the camera operator has a grand mal seizure... And he's avenging a puppy, I guess?

  22. @adiwan My family always kept at least one big bucket of water handy, dunked all the spent fireworks, and tossed the trash out properly for 4th of July, how damn hard is it?

  24. @adiwan Yeah, I get the same feel. Might pick it up for my dad, who has expressed minor interest, but it would be too late for a Christmas present...

  26. @adiwan @scribus I enjoyed it quite a bit, although I definitely thought the Pinky and the Brain segments were generally the better parts of the episodes they were in. Not that the Warner Bros. segments were bad at all, they were pretty funny, I just thought P&B had waaaaay less misses.

  28. @adiwan Yeah, I've seen a mixture of different designs and countries since I've gotten here. The US started a thing a while back for the states. Not sure if they ever stopped since the original coins are still in circulation. Wasn't paying much attention to the years.
