@bulletst0rm you could ask for a specific pony video for Christmas. That's an opportunity.
-
@bulletst0rm I usually just tell people, including my family, that I like things as the opportunity arises. I think it's best to treat it like something non-consequential, not make any big deal of it, since it really isn't any big deal

@bulletst0rm That depends. Do your parents make ridiculous assumptions about one's sexuality/whatever based on superficial things, or do you suspect they might do so? If yes, test the waters by asking them what they think of "this brony fad you've heard about". If not, or if they respond positively, just treat it like you'd treat being a fan of any other show and geek out over it in a way that lets them know without making a big scene of it like it's something wrong.

@bulletst0rm Tell them that you like cartoons and one of your favorite writers made a new version of My Little Pony that is actually pretty awesome and you like to watch it. Then own the situation because who cares.

@bulletst0rm Everypony is welcome to interject any irrelevant thing at any time here... bananas
-
@bulletst0rm They really don't need to know. You wouldn't randomly tell them if you started watching any other show
-
@bulletst0rm "I'm pregnant." *parents gasp* "lel jk I just like colourful cartoon horses lmao"
-
@bulletst0rm It's not a big thing, just a tv show.
-
@bulletst0rm Parents like to think that you're gay if you don't have a gf. Just keep it away from them, and if they ask, just say you like the artwork.
-
@bulletst0rm the way I go about it with everybody is this: if I am asked if I like MLP, I will say yes. but other than that, I don't bring it up. I also don't really try to hide anything. basically, if someone wants to know, they get to know.
-
@bulletst0rm Why does everyone need to make a big deal out of it? You don't even need to tell them
-
@bulletst0rm "Mom, dad, I watch cartoons."

@bulletst0rm welcome to the first day of the rest of your life!
