I've yet to find a fantasy game that was made post Tolkien that discribes the elves as something other than pretty human-likes and humans as giant self-entitled pricks
-
@zennx How about the witcher? elves are not pretty and everyone is a prick, regardless of race.
-
@zennx Morrowind.
-
@nerthos Morrowind humans = HUJE PRICKS
-
@hakupony yes, but the two are required at the same time
-
@zennx Yeah, but the mer are ugly pricks too!
-
@zennx The real pricks in Morrowind is definitely the Dunmer.
-
@nerthos Only the beast races aren't assholes, and at least one isn't playable. :(
-
@flaxx Indeed. Though they mostly have the right to be, since they were the only province to actually fight the empire enough to be anexated as an independent province.
-
@bitshift Beast races is best races.
Bit Shift likes this. -
@flaxx well the Dunmer are very territorial.
-
@bitshift You can play both Argonians and Khajiit, and they're the only beast races. I mean, there are that other ugly old ones, the necromancy adept ones whose name I cannot find in my memory right now... but they don't show.
-
@wafers They sure are. They also love their slavery a bit too much.
-
@flaxx Except Khajiit in Skyrim, because apparently only the assholish ones didn't get scared off by the rather racist Nords.
-
@nerthos Huh. Which TES game am I thinking of, then? :/
-
@flaxx They're so likable.
-
@bitshift None of the main ones, since the fur men races, three mer races, and two beast races were playable in all five.
-
@bitshift I found an annoying Khajiit in one of the towns, though I can't remember which one. The one with the Thieves Guild, I think. But other than that, most are nice. I'm an Argonian, though. :3
-
@bitshift J'Zargo is too awesome to be scared off
-
@bitshift Dunno, but you couldn't play Orc until Morrowind. But Argonians and Khajiit have always been playable, apart from in Redguard.
-
@nerthos Odd.
-
@nerthos Ahnassi. <3
-
@flaxx i might have missed ou ton somthing, but... why are you a chair?
-
@wafers J'Zargo talks in the third person, like all the best characters!
-
@flaxx Yes, <3 indeed :D She's SO cute, it's surely one of the characters I'm most fond of.
-
@evilderpyshy Because this: http://www.flaxx.at/en/index.php
-
@bitshift Parthunaax will always remain my favorite npc.
-
@bitshift J'Zargo is very pleased with your view of J'Zargo.
-
@nerthos Yeah, she's definitely one of my favourites. :3 Also Deetsan from Oblivion. She was nice.
-
@minti what'ya think of my avatar? :3
-
@minti Requesting Great and Powerful J'Zargo crossover. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@flaxx Yes, beast races always have at least one cute character who makes the hardest heros warm inside.
-
@evilderpyshy Lawl. :p
-
@flaxx Oh, i tough it was from IKEA xD does that mean i can throw you in tthe rash, and you'll bacome a new pony?
-
@nerthos I require both the uglyness of elves and the non-pick-ness of humans
-
@bitshift YES! J'Zargo and Trixe showdown
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@zennx I'll find something sooner or later.
-
@nerthos They sure do. Deetsan is probably my favourite character in all of Oblivion.
-
@evilderpyshy Don't think so, but perhaps a new chair!
-
@minti compare this: http://ur1.ca/90oe0
-
@flaxx I killed all the kidnappers in every playtrough, because Deetsan was so kawaii.
-
@nerthos Wait, are we talking about the same Deetsan? http://uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Deetsan
-
@flaxx Sorry, confused her with the one that got kidnapped, in chorrol. But yeah, she was really nice too!
-
@evilderpyshy Perhaps, but I'm rather okay with being a chair for now.
-
@nerthos I had almost forgotten about the kidnapped one (can't even remember her name). She was great too, though!
-
@nerthos Also, back to Morrowind. Hul. <3
-
@nerthos pretty sure you won't, I think that no matter what iff I roll an elf NPCs will say: "Hello you are an elf" and if I roll a human they will say: "Hello, you are an mangoes"
-
@flaxx The argonian female who walks near Balmora's strider, right?
-
@zennx As I said, I'll find one sooner or later.
-
@nerthos Precisely! I love her for her name and because she just walks around. She's awesome.
-
@flaxx Yeah. "Totally unimportant but famous characters" xD
-
@nerthos Haha, exactly. XD Love characters like that.
-
@flaxx *sits on you* ok. :3
-
@flaxx They're best characters. In every game there's a character who says two lines, and yet I find myself hanging around them twice the time I spent with any other character.
-
@evilderpyshy Chairs have feelings too, you know.
-
@nerthos Haha, it's so true. Just been so long since I played any games like that so I can't remember much. ._.
-
@flaxx what was that, chair? Jump? Ok! *jumps on chair* ... now I feel evil :(
-
@evilderpyshy That's because you are. :c
-
@flaxx You should fix that! I play them regularly xD
-
@nerthos Well, I'm currently trying to get through Daggerfall. Been playing it a whole lot the last week. :b
-
@flaxx I'll play that game whenever I feel like wasting hours trying to figure how the dungeons work.
-
@flaxx will you ever forgive me? *sob* I regret sitting on you! I really do! *cries*
-
@nerthos It is pretty difficult to learn, but once you get used to it, it's actually a lot of fun. At least, I think so.
-
@evilderpyshy *pat pat* Of course I will, don't worry about it. #hug
-
@flaxx It is indeed fun, and really deep, but I can just get myself to spend 5 hours walking through tunnels with the exact same texture.
-
@flaxx I want to start it sometimes soon :)
-
@nerthos Never try to get through Arena. Just a tip. :b But yeah, some dungeons are a pain. Been trying for like two days to find a necromancer in a cave for a Mages Guild quest, but I just can't manage to find him. Think I'm gonna just skip that and try to get farther into the MQ.
-
@flaxx Exactly. I left the game in a knight order quest. Couldn't find a warlord.
-
@evilderpyshy You don't seem as evil at you seem, I must say.
-
@hakupony If you're gonna try Daggerfall, take my advice and use this download: tinyurl.com/29e74jk It's much better than the official one. Runs smoother, has lots of patches and such. Just all-round better. :3
The white void likes this. -
@flaxx Favourited.
-
@flaxx Thanks, I'll donload it when I am at Campus again.
-
@nerthos Well, you can always just skip the quests you can't manage to finish. You'll lose some reputation (but you can't even see your rep with factions/people without a save file editor such as DFHack), but it's pretty easy to get that up again.
-
@nerthos Hey Man whats up today
-
@flaxx n-n-no, i-im very mean! If- if you don't mind, of course. -tinysquee*
-
@hakupony Yay! Good luck with it! :D Always fun to find other people who appreciate these old games. ^_^
-
@nerthos Sweeeeet.
-
@flaxx Thing is, I can't get myself to do that either xD
-
@evilderpyshy *eyes closely* Hm... Are you sure about that?
-
@djfiiasco Hey, how're you doing? Not much here, just tired and posting.
-
@nerthos Hah, guess that game just isn't for you then. :b
-
@flaxx I can't say I appreciate it but I give it a chance.
-
@nerthos I get out of school in 2 mins.
-
@flaxx But I appreciate some SNES games though )
-
@hakupony Well, that's enough for me. Most people wouldn't even look at it. :b
-
@nerthos GTG
-
@djfiiasco Oh, good! I love not having to go there anymore.
-
@djfiiasco Bye!
-
@flaxx I'll finish it sooner or later. I must.
-
@flaxx i- i- I think so. *cries and runs away*
-
@hakupony Hah, SNES is awesome. Actually got one in my room just about 2 meters away from me right now. With Super Mario Allstars in it. :b
-
@nerthos You must. You mussst. You MUSSSSSSSST
-
@evilderpyshy Huh. *scratches head* Well ain't that peculiar.
-
@flaxx I KNOWWWWW... I must, because I cannot consider myself a true TES fan if I don't.
-
@flaxx Terranigma, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, Lufia /)^ɛ^(\
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@flaxx what head?
-
@nerthos Welp, I've finished Arena, Morrowind and KotN. But that's all. Still gotta finish Tribunal, Bloodmoon, Oblivion, Shivering Isles and Skyrim. And Redguard, I guess. And Battlespire.
-
@hakupony I'm sorry to say I haven't played any of those games. ;_; I never had a SNES of my own until I got a bit older, and we never had very many games. :/
-
@evilderpyshy The appropriate one.
-
@flaxx I finished Tribunal, Oblivion, KoTN and Shivering isles.
-
@flaxx We'll talk about this another time. you seem to be into RPGs and most of them are absolute classics.
-
@nerthos I was so close to both finishing Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles. Failed Bloodmoon because our computer broke. And in Shivering Isles the Dark Seducer what's-her-name bugged when she was going to light the Flame of Agnon. :C
-
@hakupony Sure am. RPG is my favourite genre. Especially the !TES games. Been a fan of those games since I first started out with my useless Argonian Mage in Morrowind on my stepbrother's old Xbox. :3
The white void likes this. -
@flaxx Advance the quest stage with the console. You might not see a dialogue scene or two, but at least you'll be able to advance.
-
@nerthos Well, that save file is long gone. That was a couple years ago, and we got a new computer since then and whatnot. Just can't be bothered to try again right now.
-
@flaxx They all are JRPGs, but they don't have round based battles (except Lufia) and you can play Secret of mana with three players if you want :)
-
@flaxx Oh well. I have savegames 10 years old xD
-
@hakupony I own all of them. I collect good old retro games. NES, Gameboy, GBC, GBA, Master System, Mega Drive, SNES, PS2, XBox, PC.
-
@hakupony Ah, I see. Never really played much JRPG's (I'm almost ashamed to say I've never even tried any Final Fantasy game in my life >.>), though I love Kingdom Hearts if that counts. But yeah, I'm more for western RPG's.
-
@nerthos I find that very hard to believe. At least for Oblivion. :b
-
@flaxx Well, Final Fantasy is very japanese and if you don't like stuff like random battles and turn based combat it most propably isn't your thing.
-
@flaxx Not Oblivion savefiles, but of other games. I have some installations of games I put on a disk in year 2000 or so, for example. http://ur1.ca/90ph7
-
@hakupony Sorry about my incompetence about JRPG's, but are the Pokémon games counted in that genre? Because I love those games.
-
@nerthos Haha, that's pretty awesome. Got no stuff that old left.
-
@flaxx POKéMOMS, huh? *suddenly interested*
-
@flaxx This one I think it's there since the late '90s. http://ur1.ca/90pm3
-
@evilderpyshy Dunno about that, but there's lots of Pokémon here.
-
@flaxx Eeyup
-
@nerthos Hah, why do you even keep that stuff around? XD I mean, apart from the obvious reasons like immense awesomeness and such.
-
@hakupony Sweet. Those games are great. Got Gold on my old Nokia. :3
-
@flaxx I always find a use for those things! And at that time I didn't had a disk bigger than 4GB, so it barely weights anything xD
-
@nerthos Haha, I guess that's true. But do you even have the games the save files are for?
-
@flaxx Yes. I have mostly all of them. Lots are installed there.
-
@flaxx At the moment, I play devil survivor 2 - it's kind like Pokemon but twisted and hard. Kind of like teh internet is to MLP :/
-
@nerthos Heh, that's pretty awesome. I've never had my completely own computer until I got this laptop, our computers have always been for the whole family to use, so I haven't had the chance to really save stuff like that. :/
-
@hakupony Don't think I've ever even heard of that one. >.> Hope you're having fun, though!
-
@flaxx *EvilDerpyShy FAINTS of joy*
-
@flaxx Same for me until a couple years back. But my dad was never technologically iliterate, so...
-
@evilderpyshy What is even going on here?
-
@nerthos My dad was pretty good with computers, but he never cared for saving old stuff like that. Which is a shame, because I think it would be nice to have it now.
-
@flaxx no idea...
-
@evilderpyshy Story of my life.
