@ceruleanspark wat.
-
@ceruleanspark Why would you use pny.lv when derpy.me is so much-
Oh wait, pny.lv is shorter. Nevermind. -
@equestriagaming because pny.lv is /mine/
-
@equestriagaming Also StatusNet doesn't support derpy.me's shortener software, the throttling would kill it anyway, and pny.lv is our "official" shortener now anyway
-
@erkanyilmaz Ask @ceruleanspark. It's his. I just drew him a logo for it.

@redenchilada oh melikely

blushing and thinking to color my avatar #red :-)

@erkanyilmaz Interesting idea. I hadn't considered it before. I'll see what I can rig up

ok. see e.g. http://ur1.ca (though I heard some time it's not (completely) downloadable?)

trying to turn my avatar into #REDish colors, but: don't see in GIMP's menu something useful (most coloring options tell me: "operates only on RGB color layers" <- don't tell me that, just do it). Trying how to turn (1) into something RGB like. (1) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Spirit_portal.jpg cc @question

otherwise: GIMP's #filter menu seems nice, never looked at it in details
-
found a RGB option under menu: Image > Mode and the colorize tool seems to work, let#s explore which method is best
-
@erkanyilmaz Try toggling Image > Mode > RGB, if the image isn't already set to that. (Likely it's erroring out because the image is either grayscale or indexed.)

right, that was the solution (#easy to find when one explores a litle the menus :-() Though I wanted actually to turn the black colors into red, the pic now is also fine
-
@erkanyilmaz You could try creating a layer of solid red color and setting its mode to Addition. Then tweak its opacity until it's a good shade.

@redenchilada @erkanyilmaz Actually, Screen instead of Addition. Screen seems to give a better effect to me.

let me try that... for some mins
-
Don't confuse me now ;-) I think I'll look up a GIMP #tutorial on those layers. For now: happy... and thx for your pointers. How come you're so knowledgeable in this area?

@erkanyilmaz I do a lot of goofing around with image design. Gotta make things look good.
