@mrdragon I'm confused on that, because it seems to get bigger and more known but peeps keep saying it is dying. Is there any specific inarguable evidence in either way, or is it a divided set of stances relying on differing perspectives?

@crusader8 It's not dying, it's changing, it's gone from loveandtolerate to just play power hungry idiots. Bronycon is the best example, and then EQD has lost it's head on power as well. Kicking once loyal people to the dirt as if they were junk. Get out there and see the dirty end of the Fandom, it's growing quicker then the fandom is itself

@mrdragon It's because of the growth. Those who have power now feel they're not one of the elders of the village, but the rulers of an empire. It's what happens when you let someone who's not a natural leader grab power, and has a onstant influx of idiots that listen to him. As soon as the fandom became big enough to move considerable money, this was bound to happen. It's only a matter of avoiding the filthy spots though.

@nerthos Tell me about it. I prefer the 'neurotic, but nurturing, Jewish mother' role in my interactions with the fandom lately. Watching a lot of egos run out of control. Not that I can't be an arrogant jerk myself, but I always saw myself primarily as a servant to the community. Let's just say that my first three BronyCons were *NOT* fun experiences. At all.

@purpletinker I have never talked to you enough, or meddled with any important issues of the fandom to really know what's going on in the higher circles, but I can gather from knowledge on politics and psychology that it's not nice; the usual plotting and schemes of deception and betrayal to grab power even if just for a little while. I'm arrogant and with an ego the size of the sun myself, yet I completely lack interest in getting involved in such things; so I can see how someone with a big ego would act in a position like that. As far as I know, you're not a saint, but by any means you're what some try to make others believe. You're a normal woman trying to do something for a community, with a fair amount of bad luck that came from not cutting some heads in the right moment. But yeah, as long as there's profit and the sense of power over anything involved, things will end like this again and again.

@purpletinker That is the way things should be. A leader has to be arrogant, otherwise the weight of responsibility ends up breaking him/her. And if (s)he's not grumpy, the not-so-considerate would disregard warnings and wreak havoc around, confusing politeness with weakness.

@nerthos And if you may have noticed, RDN is in fact have a good boom in growth of late. We should be close to using double the bandwidth of last month, and we have some new users and it's growing. I intend to keep this a safe spot, this captain will go down with his ship before he sees her taken by the enemy.

(Speaking of EQD, I wonder what the exact nature of their power is that they're supposedly getting drunk on. I on;ly use the word "supposedly" because I can't confirm or deny it) @scribus I don't feel anything close-knit about bronydom, but maybe that's because I started too late. And I haven't creatively contributed anything with a "wow" factor.
