That moment my little brother decides to download Apache OpenOffice instead of pirating Microsoft Office. All of my pride *_*

@omni Woah when did it become Apache OpenOffice? I think I missed something somewhere along the way…
about a year ago from web-
@toksyuryel Reasonably recently. After LibreOffice became so popular and so little people used OpenOffice.Org it went to the Apache foundation. They had their first release as Apache OpenOffice not too long ago: http://is.gd/mAS93E

@omni Huh, interesting. Which would you say is better? Not that I would ever use any of 'em, but just so I know what to recommend to other people who don't care about the finer details.
about a year ago from web-
@toksyuryel Well, if I understood it correctly, the Apache license makes it possible for the LibreOffice team to import bugfixes from Apache OpenOffice, but not the other way around. Besides that, LibreOffice is far ahead in bugfixes and already has more features. LibreOffice is a clear winner in my opinion because it is ahead of Apache OpenOffice, and the way Apache OpenOffice is licensed won't really make it possible for Apache OpenOffice to gain up on LibreOffice. However, as a professional company, you would most likely want professional support in which case Apache OpenOffice is better, in all other cases I would recommend LibreOffice.

@omni Holy cow Omni, you are so repetitive today...

@omni The word office has now lost all meaning to me
about a year ago from web-
@ceruleanspark Does that include related words like "official" and "officiate" and "officer?"
about a year ago from web -
@ceruleanspark I'm not sure how to respond to that, actually.
about a year ago from Choqok-
@omni Office should office office
about a year ago from web-
@ceruleanspark Well, at least there is still the difference between Open and Libre, even if Libre is essentially just French for Open.
