  1. why would you have a beard like this but shave your mustache? I honestly don't get why people do this, like do they want to look stupid as possible http://gyazo.com/e811de85e97b4b6a6d4f59fb9f4c47db

    1. @rarity Moustaches get in the way of food and drink. It may look better to just be clean shaven, but, if you shave the neck and soul patch area, you have almost no itchiness (depending on where and how sensitive your skin is) and less than half the original work shaving overall. I call it the Irish-beard style and consider it the best balance of comfort and convenience for facial hair. It looks better, imo, with lighter color hair, especially red and curly, but yeah.. not the smexiest of styles.

      1. @pony I know, I have a beard, but I'd honestly rather deal with the occasional annoyance than look like an Amish

        1. @rarity I was thinking he liooks like a gnome, but Amish works too. :D

            1. @rarity I understand. I just like imagining him wearing a tall red pointed cap.

    2. @rarity Also, guys with darker facial hair can more easily grow mustaches that look good, whereas guys with lighter facial hair may look perpetually like their upper lip needs washing since theirs sometimes doesn't really show.

        1. @mushi It's been years since I grew any serious facial hair. My university didn't allow it.

"A clean and well-cared-for appearance should be maintained. Clothing is inappropriate when it is sleeveless, revealing, or form fitting. Shorts must be knee-length or longer. Hairstyles should be clean and neat, avoiding extreme styles or colors, and trimmed above the collar, leaving the ear uncovered. Sideburns should not extend below the earlobe or onto the cheek. If worn, moustaches should be neatly trimmed and may not extend beyond or below the corners of the mouth. Men are expected to be clean-shaven; beards are not acceptable. Earrings and other body piercing are not acceptable. Shoes should be worn in all public campus areas."

      1. @pony I find it hard to believe that at least two percentage points worth of students break the no-drinking rule

            1. @rarity IIRC, the an Amish school came second to BYU, I think, most years, for sobriety. I guess that Princeton assumes every university will have its rebels.
