If I turn off my fan to go sleep, it's gonna be boiling in here. If I don't, it'll be too loud. How am I supposed to live like this

@scoot I imagine you're a liar

@mastertdi As you wish, but that is less fun for all involved.

@scoot 1) Do you have a basement?
2) Is it possible to sleep with fewer garments on?Saturday, 19-Jul-14 00:58:48 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Most English houses don't, so no. Not much less.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:00:14 UTC from web-
@scoot Hm, well I guess I learn something new every day. It's been getting considerably warmer here so I've been sleeping in my basement usually with just a pair of shorts on.

@northernnarwhal I am lucky to have the coldest room in the house most of the time, but England has a heatwave so it's been awful
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:02:51 UTC from web-
@scoot If I sleep in my room with the fan on when it's hot that usually only makes it worse because it blows all the hot air directly onto me.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:04:23 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I've turned it off because it was giving me a headache and actually there's just barely enough breeze to make it livable. The fan was definitely making it colder in here though

@scoot Lucky for me I can sleep in pretty noisy environments, I was used to noisy nights at a young age.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:08:06 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I wish I could do that, but I require absolute silence instead
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:09:17 UTC from web-
@scoot It's probably the one good thing that's come out of my parents arguing all the time when I was younger.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:10:50 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I used to sleep through quite a lot when I was a kid, I just lost that in later life
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:11:17 UTC from web-
@scoot Yeah, it stuck with me as I grew older. I also don't even need a dark environment to sleep either, I can sleep in a well lit area.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:13:55 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I can sleep in bright lights or any lights really, probably because I sleep so late that the suns usually up
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:15:30 UTC from web-
@scoot That tends to become a summer habit for me, luckily there aren't a lot of windows in the basement.

@scoot drink some ice water. that'll cool you down enough to go to sleep without the fan.

@ellie Yeah, lucky for me I can pretty much sleep through anything, although that might as much a curse as it is a blessing.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:23:11 UTC from web -
@ellie I actually still usually don't get much actual sleep these days, though I probably should try and keep a regular sleep schedule
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 01:26:41 UTC from web -
@ellie It's usually around 4-6 hours these days for me.
