    1. @broniebrown Why ?

Monday, 13-Oct-14 12:56:28 UTC from web
      1. @critialcloudkicker The HUB is dead. It's replaced by Discovery Family now.

        1. @broniebrown Oh, they did that on October 13th, I thought they would do that in December ... Ahwell... ... Also Hasbro still seems to own 40% of Discovery Family Channel. I thought they wanted to sell ?

          1. @critialcloudkicker I don't know. It doesn't interest me anymore. All I want is that MLP:FiM will be still produced and apparently it will be. Also I want that Dan vs. returns but I guess that show won't come back.

            1. @broniebrown It won't ? Dang. Guess I have to go ask ol' Internet for some copies

              1. @critialcloudkicker I mean that no new episodes will be produced. I have all episodes on my HDD.

                1. @broniebrown I do not ( yet ) ... So much to catch up on. Like Legend of Korra and Gravity Falls. ... And I guess it is about time for Seson 5 of GoT to begin, no ?

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:46:01 UTC from web
                  1. @critialcloudkicker I'd say the 5th GoT season will be in March or April 2015.

                    1. @broniebrown Oh, good, I have some time to plow though ... ... ... What do you mean I only have 171 GB free on my 3 TB disk ? ( minus the 630 GB steam directory since I know how to put steam-installs on a data disk and not C:/ ( also that is my SSD ) ... that is still a LOT )

          2. @critialcloudkicker People were making a dumbass big deal about it saying that Hasbro would control like NONE of the network's content anymore, but they only sold 10% of their shares. Literally the only thing that's changing in regards to MLP is that the network is being renamed.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:44:26 UTC from web
            1. @zeldatra Yes, I deducted as much. I thought though that Hasbro would sell more or all of it's % of shares. And in regards to MLP, continue to make the episodes and licence them to hungry hungry networks.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:47:50 UTC from web
              1. @critialcloudkicker Nah, they wouldn't sell ALL of their shares. It probably wanted to get out of majority ownership so that it would be less financially responsible for the network, but wants to have enough of a say in the network that it still generates revenue for them.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:50:10 UTC from web
                1. @zeldatra Techically I am sure that Hasbro could keep all of the revenue that comes out of shows like MLP at this point by licencing third parties to air it at their network. But practically I think it would be very hard to come up with, develop, and/or perhaps research new IP's

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:52:21 UTC from web
                  1. @critialcloudkicker Nope. If MLP were licensed to, say, Nickelodeon, then Viacom would get some of the revenue. So long as Hasbro still owns the block it airs on, they get all the money.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:54:40 UTC from web
                    1. @zeldatra ... Viacom ? Why ?

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:56:14 UTC from web
                      1. @critialcloudkicker Because Viacom owns Nickelodeon.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:56:27 UTC from web
                        1. @zeldatra Ofcourse they would get all the revenue for things like commercials and so on, but they would have to pay Hasbro in order to be allowed to air MLP

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:57:47 UTC from web
                          1. @critialcloudkicker Whatever, you completely missed my point anyway.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 17:59:18 UTC from web
                            1. @zeldatra I'm afraid I did, what was it ?

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:00:07 UTC from web
                              1. @critialcloudkicker If Hasbro owns 40% of Discovery Family, they get 40% of the revenue but also aren't financially responsible for the other 60%, MLP had nothing to do with my explanation, you pulled that out of nowhere.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:02:07 UTC from web
                                1. @zeldatra Ehmm, point taken. Why though ?

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:05:38 UTC from web
                                  1. @critialcloudkicker Why what?

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:07:12 UTC from web
                                    1. @zeldatra Why would a situation where you own 40% instead of 50% of the shares to a network be preferable ? As you stated, financially responsibility, but does that not beg the question "Why is hasbro convinced that owning less than 50% would be more profitable ?"

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:10:20 UTC from web
                                      1. @critialcloudkicker If they're not a controlling shareholder they don't have to do any work

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:11:51 UTC from web
                                        1. @ceruleanspark Then selling 1% would have been enough.

Monday, 13-Oct-14 18:13:45 UTC from web
                                          1. @critialcloudkicker They probably wanted the capital

        2. @broniebrown cool, the show had always been aired on Discovey Kids over here
