I drive automatic like a plebian

@yodelerty same lo
-
@yodelerty Why would normal people drive a stick in everyday situations when automatics are easier to use though?
-
@hawloween I like to have a hand free anyway I know I'm not smart enough to do it anyway
-
@redenchilada ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
@yodelerty Not all automatics are bad however. I really have grown to love the auto in the Celica.
-
@hawloween I honestly thought the only point of a stick shift was for racing or trying to look cool
-
@vt3c I don't know what 50 male pregnancies has to do with thius
awlxaĺan likes this. -
@yodelerty Well, it has become that I think for Yanks. Outside of that however, it's just the norm. I like standards because I was at one point used to them, but give me a responsive automatic I can manipulate and it's fine.
-
@vt3c don't patronize my car idiocy, punk
-
@hawloween That makes sense
-
@vt3c love me a good dong birth
-
@yodelerty Actually I've grown to like autos more because they're more complicated when you dig into them, and I like complicated machinery.
-
@vt3c Oh believe me I didn't just make it up
-
@hawloween Yeah, I figured you'd like that sort of thing, if I know you.
-
@yodelerty Constant Variable Transmissions are even better, plus driving them is so weird.
-
@hawloween Not even sure what that is, man.
-
@yodelerty http://rainbowdash.net/url/796877 it's a relatively new thing in automobiles, instead of having gear selections you have pulleys that expand or contract to give you variable speed.
-
@hawloween That's.. pretty cool I think
-
@yodelerty Complicated, so yes. It's supposed to be more efficient with engine power, which in turn makes better use of the fuel it burns.
-
@hawloween probably cost-effective
-
@vt3c They're hardly the inventors of the CVT but as of now yes, the largest automaker using them in most of their models. Nissan is toying with them.
-
@yodelerty Implementation maybe not yet, but that's how all technology starts out.
-
@hawloween the miracles of technological advancement
-
@hawloween According to my father, they use them since the '80s on printing machines
-
@spookthos Yes, also snowmobiles have had them forever, and I think smaller construction equipment such as a Bobcat.
-
@hawloween Makes sense, as those vehicles have a bigger need for gear shifting than flat road cars.
-
@spookthos It's funny to think of printing machines using something like that, makes sense when one thinks about their operation in one's head.
