@broniebrown The final boss would be Peach, and when you defeat her you kidnap her. The game would be a prequel to every Mario game ever.

@thelastgherkin Anything else would be really disappointing. I would like to see Mario using his abused gorilla in the second last boss fight. It would be a nudge to Donkey Kong.

@broniebrown I like the idea of Mario not being in it. I think the reason Peach gets kidnapped so often is because he's not there to stop it.

@thelastgherkin Alternative idea. 2 games, one in which Bowser sends out minions in search of SERIOUS wealth, and 1 where Bowser uses this wealth to hire Wario to kidnap the princess.

@broniebrown I get the impression that Nintendo's kind of not allowed to present Mario as a villain? I don't know why but I think that's an in-house policy or something.

@thelastgherkin Yeah. He has done a lot of animal cruelty: kidnapping gorillas, jumping on tortoises, flame-throwing sentient mushrooms, electrocuting (star power) other animals, throwing tortoise shells (assuming he pulled the animals violently out of it), enslaving dinosaurs and letting them drop off into an endless pit... The list is endless.

@redenchilada What I meant was that as Nintendo's been progressing, they haven't really done anything with Mario that wasn't completely middle-of-the-road, and they've certainly not been messing around with the IP like they did in the nineties with really bad cartoons and that movie adaptation.
