@northernnarwhal I didn't even make it to Satan on hard mode. I died in Sheol once because one of the curses makes the screen really dark so it's hard to see obstacles and enemies.

@northernnarwhal I actually ended up dying by running into one I didn't know was there since some of the rooms are larger and the camera moves with you so you can see all of it. If I knew that could happen I would have ended the run at Mom's Heart.

@northernnarwhal I can't do let's plays because you have to have some sort of charisma or whatever to attract viewers. Plus, I no longer find joy in making videos. Also I don't really like the game as much as I used to anyway. Or video games in general. So it's hardly comparable to your drumming. Not even close.

@yodelerty You know, in Aristotle's book on ethics his opening statement is something along the lines of "Human beings all strive towards happiness". None of us want to do things that will make us sad, that's counter intuitive. But motivation also goes hand in hand with effort. I really want you to keep doing those non-zero days like I told you about, because then you at least be making an effort.

@northernnarwhal I haven't been doing those at all because I keep napping because I'm always so tired after work. And afterwards I wake up and cry because I wasted an evening. Also literally nothing seems appealing at all and I hate everything as much as I want to be doing something which is stupid as hell

@yodelerty Hey, I'm not that great either. I just try my best and try to improve myself whenever I do try something. Anything artistic (not just drawing) that I've done has been done for myself as a means of catharsis and creative stimulus.

@yodelerty I do a lot of abstract art where I just start drawing and try not to stop until I'm done. That's always a lot of fun because there's no "right" or "wrong", you just express your emotions in a very intrinsic and primal form.

@yodelerty That comes with being an artist, you tend to dislike a lot of what you do. One of my biggest issues right now is that I struggle with my ego and how much of it influences me and what I do as well as create. I have to ask myself that if I'm just perpetuating my own internalized feelings, am I merely serving the self or am I independent of that?
