  1. Am I the only one who feels like Oblivion is just stuff happening at you?

    1. @mrmattimation Oblivion is mostly lots of Stuff Happening, but that's almost sort of the point of the game (or least how I interpreted it when playing). A lot of the engagement comes from its sheer volume and scope as well as the lack of directive, it's essentially an organically constructed world meant to facilitate player engagement. Mind you, many of the core mechanics of the game (notably its combat and interface) were sort of sloppily handled, but as a holistic package I still think Oblivion is a pretty well designed game that simply has a few caveats the player needs to overcome to become immersed in it.

      1. @northernnarwhal I like Daggerfall better because you can climb city walls and break into houses with your weapons.

        1. @caret7 I think you have more of a point then narwhal, because yours didn't look like an excerpt from a thesis paper.

        2. @caret7 Morrowind is still my favourite in the series, I felt it achieved its goals more fluently than any other game in the franchise. It's sort of this mediator between the heavy-handed density of the franchise's early entries and the more tightly constructed but accessible entries later in. It's a game that demands patience and engagement, as its world is condensed with enough detail to have an overt atmosphere but still characterized by enough quirks to not completely ostracize the player.
