    1. @tiffany I think for a lot of people it was already a bad thing. I personally never understood why, I've got a Napoleon Dynamite one on my desk right now.

      1. @mrmattimation I imagine it's because (playing devil's advocate here) it's an easy way for them "fake nerds" to act like they're "real nerds" or whatever. I don't own any but there are like hundreds I'd happily get if they weren't pricey and better in multiples

        1. @tiffany The irony is that they're not actually pricey for figures. I don't really care if someone does like them, that's their prerogative, but I don't like them because they're cheaply made and mass produced for easy purchase. The whole model of pop figures isn't to make nice figures so much as to amass a bunch of licenses to make cheap figures for every piece of pop culture.

          2. @narwhal See I understand exactly what you're saying, but personally I just don't see that as a bad thing. They're cheap, affordable, kinda cute little figures for people to collect and decorate with when they can't necessarily afford nice figures.

            1. @razzleberry I can understand that. Whether their cheapness is necessarily a bad thing in a larger picture perspective is certainly up for debate, but in my case as someone who generally prefers (but can hardly if ever afford) more pricey figures, Pop Figures just leave something to be desired for me. They're effectively the McDonald's of figures, and they serve their purpose well enough in that regard, but it's for that same reason that I don't like them. As a sidenote, I don't really like the way they look either. They're not expressive enough to really come off as endearingly cute as give the impression to me of just being kinda stumpy-looking.

              1. @narwhal oh at the end of the day I would always rather save up for a nicer, pricier figure, I just think some of the Pop figures are kinda charming in their own way and I don't really have any issue with them.

                1. @razzleberry I can respect that. There's certainly a market and appeal for Pop Figures which I can't deny.
