      1. @minti Ice types? Unconventional choice, but I like it. Still, BUG MASTER RACE FOREVER. :)

        1. @bitshift Pfft. Frozen bugs. :3

          1. @minti I'm still annoyed that there are no Ice/Bug dual-types. :<

            1. @bitshift It's odd that the Bug type gets so little love given that the entire concept is based on insects to begin with.

              1. @toksyuryel I'm no friend of bugs.

      2. @minti @bitshift Now we just need a waterbender and our team is complete :3

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:31:48 UTC from web
        1. @hakupony I should probably point out that I have not (despite intending to) yet watched Avatar, so I'm going purely on which element sounds most interesting to me, rather than what can/can't be done by that type of bender in the show. (Also in-show, I think that'd make me part of the most villainous nation, and I'm not sure I like that. :S)

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:33:55 UTC from web
          1. @bitshift Fire has both the most villanous characters and most "good guy" characters. Ozai and Iroh.

          2. @bitshift DO IT ! :D ... Also the legend of Korra is pretty much Kickass :)

          3. @bitshift I just watched the first 11 episodes. I wanted to continieu in my bureau because there is a better internet connection there. But no key = no access to bureau :/

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:36:42 UTC from web
          4. @bitshift But the ending is awful. Don't put too much expectation in that.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:36:58 UTC from web
            1. @nerthos I'll bear that in mind, I guess. Also, I still have to get through ReBoot (finally released on DVD some time around last year, so I picked it up) before I can even think about adding another full series to my viewing plans.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:39:56 UTC from web
              1. @bitshift Oh man ReBoot, haven't seen that in a good like 10 years.

                1. @minti It's aged surprisingly well. I mean, the technical quality of the animation is still way below what even interactive stuff can do now, but it's still a pretty charming look.

                    1. @minti Still a charming style in itself, even if Hexadecimal's design in particular scared the crap out of me back when I first saw the series. :)

                1. @nerthos As did I. And it turns out I still love it. Definitely worth a look (also, while I have the physical DVD, I'm pretty sure rips of it exist online, if you want to check it out first, or can't get it in your country). :)

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:34:54 UTC from web
        1. @hakupony I do not like the 4th wall, and I certainly dislike the goody-goody approach most superhero's use only to find themselves being hunt down by some slimey guy in a suit whose initials are J.J.J.Junior like a villain. I find it a better ( not to mention more time-saving ) to swoop down, drop down some tactical mayhem ( sometimes with explosive ordenance ), and dissappear WAY LONG AFTER I overstayed my welcome :D ( which in honesty does not last long in the first place )

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:43:54 UTC from web
            1. @tara *thinks about that* ... I think it is all good as long as you think you do well and can do it with a huge smile on your face ( although I am not sure whether we are talking on the same frequency now )

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:47:40 UTC from web
          3. @critialcloudkicker The goody-goody superhero stuff did break my suspension of disbelieve long ago. I took Ozymandias because he tried (and suceeded) to change something. His methods made him to a very dark gray antihero which is exactly what most other heros touch slightly.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:44:50 UTC from web
            1. @hakupony Another awesome superhero would be... V... Even if you may or may not agree with his method... remember remember the 5th of november http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chqi8m4CEEY

              1. @critialcloudkicker Oh yes. He really made the bomb throwing anarchist in me happy :3

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:53:53 UTC from web
                1. @hakupony And the chemist, the whitehat, the grey hat, the anarchist ( as in people who do not belive a tight grip or police state is the only method of ruling a country ) the hacker, the philantrophist, the freedom fighter, the philosofer, and the psychologist... Eiter way, It was a beautiful movie about regaining true freedom in a perhaps not so distant future

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:57:23 UTC from web
              2. @critialcloudkicker V is most definitely not a superhero. A hero... debatably yes, depending on how you take the story. But he has no superpowers, so the "superhero" terms doesn't fit.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:54:43 UTC from web
                1. @bitshift You could also say that for that same reason Batman is not a superhero. V kills an entire squadron of swat-like cops with just knives, so that point is arguable.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:56:02 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos I would also not consider Batman a superhero. He can certainly operate on the same level as the average superhero, due to the breadth of technology he has on hand, but he has no actual superpowers.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:58:01 UTC from web
                    1. @bitshift Mr.Freeze had no superpowers either in either the movie(s) or one of the serie(s). but a very effective freeze-suit with freeze-guns. Are you going to say he is not a super-villain now ? :o

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:00:05 UTC from web
                      1. @critialcloudkicker He's still a super-villain, because villains never listen to the rules.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:00:48 UTC from web
                      2. @critialcloudkicker Yep. Like I said, I'm aware my use of the terms probably goes against the grain, but I still think they should refer to a character with actual superpowers. Which would make him (at least by my definition) just a "villain".

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:02:20 UTC from web
                        1. @bitshift Villains range from petty crooks to mob bosses. Supervillains have costumes.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:05:07 UTC from web
                        2. @bitshift The Kingpin relies on a super network of villains, thugs, thievery, A gigantuaur pile of money, charisma, technology, a silver tongue, and most importantly he has a strategic mind. If you would put him into a room with Lex Luthor and Kane ( from NOD ) You'd probably have to revise your whole who is super and who not theory :)

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:05:53 UTC from web
                          1. @critialcloudkicker No, you'd have to revise your "who rules over us" theory.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:06:47 UTC from web
                            1. @hakupony People with influence and the money to keep up that influence are the people who rule over us. At least, I think. Perhaps there is a LALELULILO or a golden pyramid HQ *shrug*

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:09:01 UTC from web
                    2. @bitshift Batman, V, and Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin are pretty much "superheros" with their superpower being an ultra athletic physical state.

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 21:00:09 UTC from web
                  2. @nerthos It's probably a pretty pedantic use of the term, but that's just how I prefer to define it.

        2. @thelastgherkin He is a hero, after all, he brought world peace, creating a world that did no longer need him. He is also a villain - just a matter of perspective.

              1. @thelastgherkin Okay, I just watched some episodes some years ago, so I may have looked at it from a more cynical site (it was't aired in Germany)

Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:52:52 UTC from web
                1. @hakupony It was a really rebellious, sometimes dark show with great character development... for Eric. One episode has them saying "Screw you Dungeon Master, we're not going to listen to your riddles and have a wacky adventure. Tell us how to kill the villain." AND THEN THEY NEARLY DO, IT'S GREAT

                  1. @thelastgherkin I think, I watched like three episodes and gave up on it...

                    1. @hakupony Don't get me wrong: most of the 80s cartoons I watch, I watch because they're laughable. Dungeons and Dragons was actually good.

        1. @thelastgherkin I was thinking about that actually... but he is an enigma more than a race methinks

        2. @thelastgherkin I'm pretty sure he's one of the spirits of the world, personified. Not sure what those are called, though. (Maiar is ringing a bell, but I'm pretty sure they're something else.)
