Note to self, don't press Ctrl-Alt-F1.

@minti Or if you do, at least figure out how to get out of it before you do.

@minti ...Ctrl+Alt+F7?
-
@bitshift And that would be how to get out of it. Like I said, not a clever pone.

@bitshift You only need alt if you're doing it from inside X. From the console just ctrl+Fx is sufficient.

@toksyuryel Neat. @bitshift So you two, is there a shortcut for opening terminal in a window? That's what I was trying to do when I did that. xD
Saturday, 25-Aug-12 20:06:41 UTC from web-
@minti It depends on your window manager and your configuration and which terminals you have installed.
Saturday, 25-Aug-12 20:07:59 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel MATE, mate-terminal, mate. MORE MATE. Lol, base install of Linux Mint 13 - MATE. Gunna go into tweaking the heck out of it later.

@minti That's a fork of GNOME if I'm not mistaken.

@toksyuryel It may be, looks like it to be fair. I need to change the menu, it's ugglllyyy.

@minti I just move my cursor to the bottom of the screen and click the terminal o3o (Also, in "Preffered programs" in the settings, you can change what terminal to use as main)
-
@derpyshy You use Xfce, not MATE. MATE is another desktop environment, so it probably works different from yours. Therefore, what applies to you may not apply to @minti :P

@minti If there's already one set up, odds are good it's on Super+T. Otherwise, no idea.
-
@bitshift @minti I just open two terminals (one for user, one for root) manually when I start my window manager and never open more because tmux.
Saturday, 25-Aug-12 20:10:27 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Yeah, same. (Well, actually, I have it scripted to start those terminals, but that's laziness more than a different way of doing things).
-
@bitshift I should do that too. That sounds like a really good idea.
Saturday, 25-Aug-12 20:13:09 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel ... I should do that too.

@toksyuryel Mm-hm. That's still one of the biggest reasons I still use *nixen when possible - once I was over the initial learning curve, they provided (still do) so many ways to indulge my inherent laziness. :)
-
@bitshift If you want to take that next step into indulgent laziness, maybe try getting over Gentoo's learning curve ^_^

@minti Whattodatdo?

@derpyshy Opens one of the virtual terminals. Everything I tried couldn't get out of it so I ended up restarting. I'm not a clever pony. :p

@scribus Because scary-comptery-stuffs. :(

@minti Oh, that. Not down with the CLI, eh?
