The idea came from a really terrible article deriding the fandom, claiming things like 'bronies choose names like Starshine Cuddlecakes' and 'glue unicorn horns to their heads and go out in public. Shiver' and generally being arsy about non-stereotypical gender roles in general. I just ran with it. And this is the one and only time I'll explain the joke.
