Super Smash Ponies: Updates : A new video has been released showing some the updates to the in-progress game based on Super Smash Brothers. The entire game has undergone upgrading- more characters, smoother animations all around, items, and more! There will also be an open beta starting soon, though they didn't specify when. @eqdpony saddened by the smash ponies vid. Vinyl and Octavia being playable characters would be like Nintendo making goomba and Bullet Bill playable characters in Smash Brothers. But even then the analogy doesn't quite do the injustice justice because 99% of why the average brony likes those two bg ponies is because of crap the fandom made up

@zeldatra the fanon everything. Their relationship, whether lesbians or roommates, is made up. Vinyl doing dubstep? Made up. She hasn't played any in the show, so those responsible for making that popular are just emulating their own tastes by hijacking Hasbro's character.

@zeldatra the fact that you call Time Turner by his official name would cause butthurt in the fandom. As for Rainbow Dash, I'm guilty of shipping her with Twi in a fanfic but there's no emphasis or mention whatsoever on homosexuality. I avoid it altogether because I felt like if I kept the romance at Disney-movie level and focus on having an actual plot, there's no need to go into something that honestly I'd never see being an issue in Equestria.

@abigpony Time Turner is a name that has shown up on some products and Hasbro's site (they confirmed his name as Time Turner at one of the cons this year too)

@thehighlander Like they confirmed Vinyl Scratch and DJ P0n-3 as Vinyl's name, but employees have apparently stated that anything not stated directly in the show is not canon.

@tekkdan I just thought it was a waste of programming space to make unimportant bg ponies playable characters when there are more qualified candidates for playables, even if they're recolors. Like RD plays like Spitfire but is faster and does less damage, etc.

@abigpony Mane 6, Celestia, Luna/NMM (shiek-like transform move), Discord, Big Mac, Trixie, Gilda, Braeburn (at least he gets lines and is related to AJ!), 3 CMC's, Cheerliee, Zecora, Wonderbolts... some characters may only appear once or twice but had pivotal roles in the episode, still qualifying them as possible playables over tavi and Vinyl
